Psalm 17:1-7 ------- 21st Century King James Version (KJ21)
1 Hear the right, O Lord; attend unto my cry! Give ear unto my prayer, which goeth not out of feigned lips.
2 Let my sentence come forth from Thy presence; let Thine eyes behold things with equity.
3 Thou hast tested mine heart; Thou hast visited me in the night; Thou hast tried me and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.
4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of Thy lips I have been kept from the paths of the destroyer.
5 Uphold my goings in Thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.
6 I have called upon Thee, for Thou wilt hear me, O God; incline Thine ear unto me and hear my speaking.
7 Show Thy marvelous lovingkindness, O Thou that savest by Thy right hand them that put their trust in Thee from those that rise up against them.
PRAYER
Beloved Lord, hear, O LORD, our petitions; hear our cry; Listen to my prayer, which is not deceitful lips. Lord, allow us to be like you, show us what we do and not what we believe, hear clearly what you want to give us to understand and speak according to your word; You, Lord, who have tasted our hearts, have visited us secretly day and night; you have put us to the test and you have found nothing in us; We decided not to pronounce with our mouth any sin for love of you. Keep us from men of evil deeds, according to your Will. Keep us from the paths of the violent. Hold fast our steps in the paths of your word, so that our feet do not slip. We ask this in the name of your beloved Son, Jesus Christ. We thank you for listening to us. Amen.
