"Jesus said to him," Because you have seen me, you have believed, blessed are those who have not seen, and have believed "(John 20:29).
The incredulity of Thomas, one of the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ, has been very censored; However, he was so human ... He did not settle for seeing the master alive, but he had to prove it. That's why he said: "If I do not see the mark of the nails in his hands, and put my finger in the place of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe" (John 20:25). In his finite mind there was no absurd idea that Jesus could rise from the dead and walk talking and walking as if nothing had happened to him.
He who trusts in God does not expect to see miracles to believe. All of us who believe that Jesus Christ died and rose again without having seen him, without objecting to anything, without logical reasoning, are blessed. The apostle Paul in his letter to the Corinthians explained that "although we live in the world, we do not fight battles as the world does" (2 Corinthians 10:03 NIV). Unbelief can be very human, "but without faith it is impossible to please God" (Hebrews 11: 6).
Jesus was the God man. They were so man and at the same time so God that provoked among their contemporaries, and even provoke, contradictory reactions. In our humanity is so deep-rooted doubt that John the Baptist, after confessing Christ as the Lamb of God and giving testimony by saying: "I saw the Spirit descending from heaven as a dove, and remained on Him" (John 1:32). , I hesitate while in jail and sent two disciples to ask Jesus: "Are you the one who was to come, or will we wait for another?" (Luke 7:19) Is not it a question full of disbelief? That's how we are When we are in trouble, anguished and imprisoned by circumstances, we distrust the great power of God, whom we love and obey.
I like the answers of Jesus. He did not say: I am the Christ !, but with his deeds he showed it: Go and tell Juan what you have seen and heard. Tell him that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed of their disease, the deaf hear, the dead come back to life and the poor are told the good news. And blessed is he who does not lose his faith in me! "(Luke 7: 22-23, DHH).
Jesus died crucified in the midst of two miscreants. One did not believe and lost the salvation of his soul; the other was blessed, because in the same condemnation he believed and his faith made him enter paradise (Luke 23:43). We pray to God that we walk by faith and not by sight. Christ rose from the dead, the tomb is empty and all who believe in Him have the hope of the resurrection and the eternal going.
