Not by might

in #steemchurch6 years ago

Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts (Zech. 4:6 KJV).

This verse was initially expressed by an angel, to the Prophet Zechariah, as a message for Zerubabbel, after the Jews had established another framework for the Temple in Jerusalem.

God had picked only a couple of Jews to remake the immense structure from huge amounts of rubble, and in the midst of furious restriction. It appeared like an incomprehensible undertaking.
I trust the words above are more appropriate to us today, than they were to Zerubabbel a huge number of years prior.

God transferred a prophetic word to Zerubabbel, by disclosing to him that the Temple of God would not be worked by human power. Today, the Temple of God is the Body of Christ, so the verse above should ring a thousand times more in our souls and psyches.
The Church will not be worked by human quality and capacity. Our everyday Christian life, our support of God, developing God's kin, and winning the lost is impossible by human capacity.

I needed to recount this verse as I experienced childhood in the Church, but I never extremely comprehended its reasonable application, until the point when the Lord opened my eyes. Presently I realize that, a ton of what we call the Christian life, is nothing other than human may attempting to do the things of God. Numerous believers are doing precisely that, but we will never have the capacity to carry on with the life God needs for us by our own strength or power.

What sort of might was the angel alluding to in the prediction for Zerubabbel? Pronounce that "I am engaged by the Spirit of the Lord, to do the things of God".
Christian living and service will remain a day by day battle until the point that the quality of the Spirit turns into a reality.

This is dead on accurate! Unless the Lord build the house, they that labor, labor in vain.
We live by faith and God does the Work in and through us. Us trying is religion. Letting God Work though us is where we should be, ceasing from our own labors.
Super relevant post!
Thank you and God bless!
