Dear Community!
Today I observed a writing on a battered sheet on the floor, with the following phrases:
"He who does not live to serve, does not serve to live"
At first it seemed a degrading phrase, then I thought that in a way, it has some logic.
Service to others is the greatest responsibility that any of us will come to fulfill, which for us can only be a small action, for someone else, it can completely mark the direction of your life and always for the better.
Our Lord Jesus Christ knew this, there is no greater satisfaction than knowing that we serve our neighbor.
The greatest among you must be a servant. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and everyone who humbles himself will be exalted.
(Matthew 23.11-12)
Serving is a humble attitude that pleases God. Every Christian is called to serve. If we say we are Christians, then we do what Christ did. Christ was our greatest example of service!
Do not limit the service, or complain! The service associated with a correct heart shapes its character.
So, do not miss opportunities to serve others. Like Jesus, we are not here to command others to serve us, but we are the first to place ourselves in the position of servants, with joy.
Jesus called them and said: "You know that those who are considered rulers of the nations dominate them, and the important people exercise power over them, it will not be like that among you, on the contrary, whoever wants to become important among you must be a servant; and whoever wants to be the first must be the slave of all, for not even the Son of man came to be served, but to serve and give his life as a ransom for many. " (Mark 10.42-45)
Through the servant's heart that Jesus possessed, today we live an excellent life with Him. Jesus gave his life for the rescue of many, including you, and what we are doing with that? Serve with joy, as he did.
"Let us dedicate ourselves to each other with brotherly love, prefer to honor others more than you, never miss zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord." (Romans 12: 10-11)
His role with his brothers is to leave his life lighter than his. Jesus did not think of his own life, but thought of ours so that they may live well, He was only a servant! So, do not miss opportunities to serve and leave things lighter for other people.
At home with your family, at church with your leaders, at school, at work ... Be Jesus to the people! Serving is also a strong and intense attitude of love!
A Friend always tells me:
Do beyond the ordinary, in addition to what is your obligation! You will know that you are on the right path when people tell you that you are too stupid to do what you do! Do not worry, God exalts the humble!
Never forget these phrases of Jesus Christ:
...as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Matthew 20:28
By helping and serving others you are allowing the respect between others and yourself to grow. This growing respect allows the community to thrive and grow stronger. Therefore, service to others is an extremely important part of a community.
Well said brother, when we serve each other, the heavenly reward is great.
When you serve, you discover that often the most important things you have to offer are not things at all. You start to uncover the full range of resources at your disposal.your time, presence, attention and recognize that the ability to give stems from a state of mind and heart, a place much deeper than the material.
"A place deeper than the material", it is good to keep this in mind when serving! Thanks Sister
Well said Lord! When Jesus selected his apostles, he chose them because he knew they could be "like Him." Serving is more often "linked" to the principle that I imagine was what motivated Luke to write what Jesus began to teach, it is more effective when done by example.
Yes Sister, Serve by example provides a great impact, thanks for the good comment!
Our divine Lord gave us the key to greatness when he told us that He did not come to perform other ministries, but to follow a ministry of His own. A service of our fellow men, such as the one He inspired, must be a service of love, because only from a source of love can useful acts, as surprising and effective as those of love and service, which are inseparable, in addition to demanding self-denial. and renounces idolatry of the self. To continue to serve day by day, in the midst of rebuffs, oppositions, reproaches or discriminations, means that one is governed by a higher law than the desire to obtain the applause of our fellowmen.
It is very important what you say sister! Serving goes much further than we think. Self, self-denial, etc., must be kept in balance and humility. Thanks for your comment

Serve with pure heart, selflessly, without expecting reward; God wants us to be servants here on earth.
Yes Sister Nayibe. Thanks

Serving is a privilege when we do it aware of the depth of its cause and its author, because, doing it with heart, love, humility and joy is a true attitude that brings reward, good reflection @emiliocabrera
