One of the biblical concepts that demonstrates the supremacy of our Lord Jesus Christ and the end of his successful career on earth, is the Ascension.
The gravitational force could not stop the feet of Jesus from taking off from the earth to Ascend to the Heights and to Eternity, leaving behind Him, the sublime hope of redemption for humanity and thousands of promises of blessings for the faithful.
"And when I am lifted up on earth, I will draw all men to me" (John 12:32).
After the Resurrection, Jesus spent forty days with the disciples, where he ate and drank familiarly with them and instructed them about the Kingdom of God. In those days his glory was still veiled under a common humanity; and his last appearance ends with the entrance of his humanity into the divine glory, symbolized by the cloud and the sky.
"And the Lord Jesus, after having spoken to them, was caught up to heaven and sat at the right hand of God" (Mark 16:19).
The elevation of Jesus on the Cross means and announces the elevation of the Ascension to heaven. Jesus Christ, the only Priest of the new and eternal Covenant, did not "enter a sanctuary made by the hand of man ... but in heaven itself, in order to appear before the face of God on our behalf." In heaven, Christ exercises his priesthood permanently, "that is why he is able to save completely those who, through him, approach God, since he lives eternally to intercede for them."
Ascension of Jesus is a preparation and anticipation of the glorification also of every Christian who faithfully follows him. It means that the Christian must live with his feet on the earth, but with the heart in heaven, our definitive and true homeland, as St. Paul reminded the Philippians: "we are citizens of the heavenly" (Philippians 3: 30).
As celestial citizens, we always think of the dimensions of the Kingdom of God as future hope for the peoples of the earth, the poor, the unassisted, the financial slaves, etc.
One of the goals of the beatitudes is precisely to free people financially who have lived under an exploitative system. Through free trade, people can build their own business and thus bless thousands more.
The ascension comes with joy and blessings for all. Nothing could stop Jesus' ascension and as such, nothing will stop His blessings to us through #Beatitude
👆Those are two powerful line.
