Good day brethren, I hope we're having a great week. Today, I'll be sharing a message "The Power Of A Sound Mind".
TEXT: PHILIPPIANS 4:7
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
You have to take one day at'a time. Years ago Mary Mckee said: “One day at a time sweet Jesus, that's all I'm asking of You...” Jesus said: So never worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow wiil worry about itself. Each day had enough trou ble of its own (Matt.6:34). God doesn't want us to be anxious or worried (v5.6). To obey is better than sacrifice. When we disobey God, we end up with stress, strain and confusion (2Tim.1:7). In some other translations the phrase “sound mind” is referred to as 'wise discretion, discipline, seif-control, sensible, self-discipline, calm and well-balanced mind'.
According to the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary 'sound means: in good condition; not hurt, diseased, injured or damaged. A sound mind is one that is not mentally ill. Avoid or deal with situations that hurt or injure your mind. Learn to forgive others freely and readily (Matt.18:35). Develop the capacity to forgive. When Peter asked Jesus how many times he was to forgive his brother, He said: You must forgive him even if he wrongs you seventy times seven (Matt. 18: 22). Do not allow the attitude or response of anyone, what he does or doesn't do affect the soundness of our mind.
Whenever anxious thoughts attack us, let us use our mouth to deliver ourselves. Practice and confess Phil.4:6 until we experience the peace of God. What is on your mind? We can always choose our thoughts (vs.8); we should not stay idle; an idle mind is the devil's workshop. Let us say what God says about our situations; Let's keep our minds stayed on Him (Isa.26:3). We should beware how we think; for our lives is shaped by our thoughts.
We need to always keep our mind focus on God.
Thanks you for this great message.
