YOU ARE A WATCHMAN
And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
Matthew 14:25
To watch means
- To be careful, vigilant and cautious, taking nothing for granted.
- To keep vigil as a guard.
The believer is called to be God’s watchman. You are to be alert on the lookout in prayer, observing attentively to see what is coming. You must develop an expectant attentive attitude in prayer. You are to engage a watchful attitude in prayer. You must be vigilant and cautious in handling every issue of your life prayerfully.
To watch in prayer means:
- Intensifying prayer fire until natural circumstances are changed and transformed by spiritual commands. When Jesus came from His prayer watch, He didn’t need a boat to get to the disciples in the sea. “And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.” (Matthew 14:25)
