I love this statement:

"Whoever has faith in God has access to a deeper understanding of the world and of life."

Undoubtedly, Christ is the foundation of our faith; and through our rebirth experience by default we receive the his spirit which constantly lead every believer in the path of truth and light.

Isaiah 11:2

And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him—the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the reverential and obedient fear of the Lord

It's through the help of this same Spirit, by whom every creature was created; to experience the supernatural just as we've been taught by your post. Truly, it's by Him we have access -- access to the supernatural.

Ephesians 2:18 says:

For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

Just the same way need a cable such as DSTVs and like in our homes to have access to channels (caught up thru the wave... I can't succinctly explain the mechanism behind this), is exactly the same manner we need the Spirit of God to access the realities in world beyond the natural.

So, as believers one thing we must constantly pray for is spiritual sensitivity; to the Holyspirit. Because we can't live a successful christian life let alone experiencing the experiential.
