Psalm 119:11
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
I would like to start by making you all know that temptation is a part of life. Even Christ himself was tempted by the devil. But the question here is this: why do some overcome and others don’t?
You may want to think that maybe temptation comes through an imaginary devil whispering to your ear to do this! Do this!! or do that! Do that!, Oftentimes, our temptations are simply derived from the circumstances of life we find our selves in.
Some people end up hating God, because they see some others succeeding and they are not. Or maybe there’s an ancestral curse in the family linage. You see people who dies at a certain age in every family or die in one specific decease and all of that. But there are also people that pass through this, and still comes out overcoming and loving God even more than ever. And you may want to ask what is the secret behind that?
1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Always remember that the temptations that comes your way are not different from what others experience. One thing you have to know is that God is always faithful and always provide a way for us to overcome. But there’s always this mistake we make as Christians which are:
1: NO ONE ELSE GOES THROUGH WHAT I’M GOING THROUGH

There’s no one excluded from sin, because they have more or different temptation than others. #1Cor10:13 Made us to understand that the temptation that comes into our life is not different form what others experience also.
Satan sometimes tries to convince you tat you’re left alone in your temptations. And might give you this two reasons to believe him.
(i) Some people attempt to justify their sin because of their special circumstances as it may be different and special from all others.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.Keeping your sin without confessing it, takes you far from God and destroy your relationship with him.
(i)When you think that you are the only one experiencing a particular temptation, you will be reluctant to seek help from others(believers). As we know, that God has designed church as the body of believers in helping one another. One of the major functions of the church is to be an encouragement to each other.
Romans 14:19
Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
2: THE TEMPTATION IS TOO STRONG FOR ME TO RESIST.
This sort of excuse for sin is all too common. People sometimes thinks that the weight of their sin is far too heavy for them to carry, they therefore excuse themselves from their sin, because they could not help it. After all, one thing you must remember is that we still have a sinful nature, right?
1 Cor. 10:19
What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?
In conclusion, I will say that when temptation comes, all we need to do is to ask God for strength-and also to show you the way He has prepared for your escape.
And also, do not place yourself in a position where you’ll be tempted.
Always know that Satan will want to tempt you at your weak point, but be ready to overcome at anytime. Our Lord has given us an example of how to overcome the devil’s tricks and temptation. Remember when He was tempted in the wilderness, he also defeated Satan every time by the use of the word(BIBLE).
Always know that Satan will want to tempt you at your weak point, but be ready to overcome at anytime
But if we are deeply rooted in His word , we will always overcome
