The Spirit Filled Life!!

in #steemchurch6 years ago

How would you depict your present involvement as a Christian? Developing. Baffled. Disappointing. Satisfied. Pardoned. Stuck. Battling. Cheerful. Vanquished. Energizing. All over?

Do you want more?

Jesus stated, " On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.
Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified."
John 7:37-39

Jesus guaranteed that the Holy Spirit would fulfill the thirst and most profound longings of all who put faith in Him. Jesus has a lot more to offer you today. Be that as it may, to encounter it, you'll have to search what you've been focusing your life on.

  1. Have you acknowledged Jesus into your life through faith?

  2. Is it safe to say that you are completely dedicated to Jesus?

  3. Are you relying upon the Holy Spirit every day?

  • A LIFE NOT CENTERED ON CHRIST

Serving Jesus isn't this person's priority. He or she becomes next to nothing in faith and regularly lives in dissatisfaction without the intensity of the Holy Spirit.

This individual may go to church, yet Jesus isn't at the center. He/She has welcomed Jesus into their life, yet their possessions, wants and interests are not centered on Christ.

This individual may state:

  • "I'm doing OK. Nobody's ideal."

  • "I'll quit fooling around about Jesus one day."

  • "I feel stuck doing the same sins again and again."

  • "The Holy Spirit doesn't feel genuine to me."

  • "I don't have much joy in my Christian life."

The sinful nature of man wants to do wrong, which is the opposite of what the spirit wants. The two forces are at war with each other, so you are not free to make good decisions.
"For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want."
Galatians 5:17

  • A LIFE CENTERED ON CHRIST

This individual has set Jesus at the center of their life—time, choices, work, connections, everything. Everything has a place with Jesus. This individual is developing spiritually and encountering the intensity of the Holy Spirit by faith.

"Dear Jesus, I need You in the center of my life and confer through Your capacity to serve and obey You. Whenever. Anyplace. At any cost. To do anything."

Belonging, wants and interests are centered on Christ. This individual still commits errors, however they're fast to re-center their life on Christ through confession and confiding in God's forgiveness.

This type of person would state:

  • "What I need most is to take after Jesus."

  • "I can't do this all alone, so I ask the Holy Spirit for help over and over."

  • "When I go astray, i quickly make God the center once more."

  • "Following Jesus is bringing me more joy."

"So I say, let the Holy Spirit control your lives. At that point you won't do what your sinful nature hungers for"
Galatians 5:16

"So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh." Galatians 5:25

  • The most effective method to LIVE DAILY IN THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

When you center your life on Jesus, you start to encounter astonishing delight. Life turns out to be profound and purpose. God starts to transform you from the back to front. The best is yet to come. God wants to make our lives increasingly plentiful every day, except to encounter that we have to depend on the Holy Spirit by faith. Here are three steps, with specific prayers, to encounter the intensity of the Holy Spirit each day.

  1. Express your pledge to Jesus every morning

1 Cor 6:19-2
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

James 4:7
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Romans 12:1
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God--this is your true and proper worship.
"Dear Jesus, I need You in the center of my life and submit through Your capacity to serve and obey You. Whenever. Anyplace. At any cost. To do anything."

  1. Live in the flexibility of pardoning

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:The old has gone, the new is here!

Titus 2:12
It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,

Colossians 1:13-14
For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

"Dear Jesus, I have sinned against You on countless occasions thank you for pardoning me through Your sacrifice on the cross. I center my life on You once more."

  1. Depend on the Holy Spirit's capacity by faith

Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

2 Peter 1:3
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.

1 Corinthians 2:12
What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.

"I require Your assistance. I can't do this by nyself. Give me quality by Your Spirit to love You with my entire being today and to love others as You do."

Jesus is giving you abundant, Spirit-filled life each and every day. Take hold of that life by faith: keep Him the center, run to Him at whatever point you fall, begin appealing to God for all that you require. Turn out to be completely alive in Jesus!
Amen!!
