MORE THAN AN INFECTIOUS DISEASE

Hello parishioners of steemchurch peace be with you all, today let us share the word of God.

In Israel when the priest certified that symptoms of infectious skin disease were present, the affected persons were declared unclean. They were ceremonially unclean and could be capable of contaminating others. They were sent out of the city to live in an isolated place.

They were cut of totally from social and spiritual fellowship with the covenant people of God.

Sin is more than infectious physical diseases. It carries with it death penalty

Romans 3:23
"for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God

There is no other way to be free from this deadly disease (sin) expect by accepting Christ as your saviour and Lord. Invite Christ into your life today and you will lead a life that reflects God's nature.

One of the diseases that was considered as sin is leprosy

God's clear and definite instructions or commands about serious skin diseases generally called leprosy. Some of these skin diseases are fatally contagious and were greatly feared in the Bible times. The worst of them slowly ruined the body and in most cases fatal.

Lepers were separated from family and friends. Leprosy is often used biblically to illustrate sin. This is because sin is contagious and destructive and leads to separation

Isaiah 59:1-2
"Behold, Jehovah’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:"
"but your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, so that he will not hear."

Just as we take precautions not to be infected with contagious diseases, much more you as youth should take definite steps to avoid youths with contagious sinful habits in your schools,neigbourhoods and the cities. Being infected with sinful habits can be more deadly than HIV/AIDS
