Proverbs 6:4-10
"Give not sleep to thine eyes, Nor slumber to thine eyelids;"
"Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, And as a bird from the hand of the fowler."
"Go to the ant, thou sluggard; Consider her ways, and be wise:"
"Which having no chief, Overseer, or ruler,"
"Provideth her bread in the summer, And gathereth her food in the harvest."
"How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? When wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?"
"Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep:"
Proverbs 6:11
"So shall thy poverty come as a robber, And thy want as an armed man."
The Holy Scriptures have revealed to us how poverty can be identified so that we can either choose to avoid it or befriend it. Poverty is an attitude: When you begin to love sleep, slumber, and idleness, you have befriended poverty, and in no time, you will begin to experience lack and poverty. Poverty is dangerous; it can cause you to sell all your assets, and it can even influence you to commit a crime. Avoid too much sleep and idleness; instead, be industrious, enjoy working, and you will have enough to spare. Dear beloved, have you ever experienced poverty and lack?
