Leviticus 7: 28-38 God supports Aaron and his children
Leviticus 7: 35-38 The offerings presented to Jehovah
God sustains Aaron and his children (7: 28-34)
Christians do not consider the congregation as suffering, but as a great blessing that fills us with gratitude. He who offers a sacrifice of peace presents his offering to Jehovah. The right leg of the peace sacrifice is raised to the altar and then received, like its portion, by the priest who offers the blood and burns the fat in the altar fire for God. The chest is for Aaron and his children. A part of the sacrifices to God is for the priests. Thus, God pays with the best to those who consecrate their lives to serve Him faithfully. God supplies for their needs and cares for them in many ways. As Christians, we must trust in our God who supplies all needs and consecrate us even more to Him.
Have I consecrated myself completely to God by giving him the most valuable of my life? Can I remember all the times that God supplied my need for his mercy?
The offerings presented to Jehovah (7: 35-38)
The Believers, saved by grace, should serve God by presenting offerings of gratitude. God brought the Israelites out of Egypt and gave them the laws of sacrifices. Holocausts, expiation offerings, guilt offerings, peace offerings, are expressions of gratitude and consecration to God. In His mercy, God instructs those who long to worship Him and have fellowship with Him. The only way a sinner has communion with God is through an expiatory sacrifice, because without shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. The people of Israel serve God and have fellowship with Him through sacrifices and offerings, Christians should value the worship we render to God, not be mean, or doubt, by giving our offerings to God.
Am I participating in the cults by obligation or custom? Do I give my offerings with joy, full of gratitude for the redeeming grace of my King and Lord?
let's pray
- That you live each day fully consecrated to God, serving Him with love and gratitude.
- That in the church more consecrated believers be added to serve faithful to God.
- That authorities and people understand that everything earthly is temporary, but the consecration to God and serving Him entails blessed and eternal consequences.
