Good day steemit... first of all, I'll like to clear the mindset that, Christians are suppose to have the perfect life, since we worship God and do everything he asks. we need to eleminate the mentality of going through the most for God and expecting something back in return.
Questions most peoole would ask is that, why do we have to go through a whole lot of pains, since we have a perfect God, we lost loved ones, diseases, poor financial stability, death, poverty and so on.
(Roman 8: 28) teaches us that, God loves those who are his children and and he works all things together for good for us, so that means that, the trials and tribulations he allows in our life, are for the purpose of our good. As chriatians and children of God, we must learn to persevere and endure through thick and thin times... There's actually nobody that has worked for God that has found it easy to deal.
Even jesus christ came to the world and and it wasnt still easy for him, even as God that he is, he still went through every bit of hatred, trials, tribulations, agony, sufferings, and finally death, while carrying out the job of the father. this alone should open our mindset, that the road to salvation, is really not an easy task that we should swim by.
most people come into the Christan faith, just for God to bless them and they never want to do anything for God and it doesn't work that way.
Trials develop a godly character that enables us find happiness in our suffering. when jesus went to heaven, the apostles were filled with fear and terrified of death and what might happen to them if they preached the gospel, but once the holy spirit came into them, their boldness was restored, they became fearless and confident, they went out spreading the gospel, even in the face of death and sufferings. All the deciples happened to die horrible death which they actually derived happiness from, because they knew, death was not the end, but life after death was the most important and thats what jesus came to secure for us. everlasting life with him in heaven, a chance to be with the father forever.
Another bold example was job, though he was not a prophet, but rather he was very close to God, he was a good servant of God. due to his love for God was so strong and, that the devil was jealous, he took permission from God to deal with him. Job was not warned before hand that, such things is going to come to him, but God told satan to do what ever he wanted to job, except kill him. job passed through the most, that even his wife and friends begged him to curse God and be free, but he refused, becaue he knew that, even the life he was living was not for him. job made them understand that, you don't only praise God when things ars going good for you, also praise him for the hard times, because his ways are just and his name will forever be exalted. At the end, job was restored to double of whatever he lost and went through.
However, we must be careful not to make excuses for our trials and tribulations, if they are as a result of our own wrong doing.
By no means let any of you suffer as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler' (1 Peter 4:15). God will forgive us our sins, because the eternal punishment has been paid by Christ dying on the cross, but however, we still have to suffer, the consequences here on earth for our sins and bad choices.
Trials and tribulations comes with a purpose and reward, consider it all joy when you come across trials and tribulations, because it increases your growth and as Christian, it makes you stronger as Christ soldier.
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him' (James 1:2-4,12).
That is the more reason we need to pray more and commit everything to God's hands... when troubles comes, seek strenght from God, just as jesus did. During the hour jesus was to be taken, he knew the hour has come and before that hour, he went to pray to God to strengthen him through the pain and agony, the bible said, while praying, his sweat was as thick as blood (God himself prayed). If you lost your faith in Christ as Christian during trials, you call on God to restore it, he knows we are just human and are not perfect, so he is ready to be on our side, while we try to fulfill his purpose in earth. he's never going to allow us suffer alone.
Jesus our lord and personal saviour went through trials and tribulations, so also with the deciples, apostles, every servant of God, but at the end of it all, the reward awaits you, because victory is surely for the lord of heaven and Earth, in whom all good things come.
Thank you and God bless.
