KNOWING GOD'S VOICE

The bass of His voice, the safety and power found at the sound of His voice. Oh, how I crave daily for You. Your voice gathers great waters, your voice causes men to tremble. You are all I want, all that I want now and forever.

Recognizing GOD's voice has a lot to do with the standard of your relationship with Him, it has do with your fellowship time with GOD. You cannot be familiar with a voice you have never heard or hardly hear and you can only hear a voice when the distance between both parties is not far.

You don't build a relationship with GOD by merely going to church on a daily basis.
Jesus said in the book of

Mathew 15:8: they honor Him with their lips but their heart is far from Him.

GOD doesn't want you to worship Him from a distance (being just a sunday worshiper). It is their voices you hear the loudest in church, their attendance is great but their personal relationship with GOD is dead.

Their heart is not fixed on Jesus, they only worship Him for the mere sake of doing that. No desire to be acquainted with GOD. Jesus said in the book of John, that He knows His sheep and His sheep also knows Him. You can't claim to know a man who doesn't know you or claim to know a man who you don't have a good relationship with.

There must be a special relationship, beyond church attendance. It is only those in the sheepfold that can know the voice of shepherd, they are recognized by GOD; they have grown with GOD, abided with Him.

When you acquaint yourself with GOD, with His voice it becomes hard for a stranger to deceive you(John 10:4-5). The stranger shows itself up in different ways; through a friend's voice, through evil thoughts and suggestions, through false prophets etc. These things have the ability to creep into the life of those who call themselves Christians and are unable to recognize GOD's voice.

Do you really want to know GOD's voice? You want to know how He speaks. How much do you even desire this?

This isn't magic, it isn't even what GOD will do for you. It is you that does the job. The book of

James 4:8 beckons unto us to draw nigh to GOD and He will draw nigh to us.

The first way to be able to know GOD's voice is to "build", take note of the word. It is to build a relationship with GOD.

How do you identify God voices?

• by studying GOD's word with the direction of the Holy Spirit. He speaks to us

• by praying ceaselessly. Prayer is a means of communicating to GOD. We speak to GOD

• by subjecting the flesh through fasting
  Remaining connected to GOD(John 14:23)

• by total obedience. Although Adam and Eve knew GOD's voice, they were deceived by another because of disobedience, and the stranger crept into Adam's heart through Eve(see Genesis 3).

• by total submission. You can know GOD's voice and still be disobedient to it. When GOD sees pride and inability to surrender your will to Him, He deals with you differently, He then keeps you quiet to run the show yourself. Many Christians are like that, they know when GOD speaks but they have selective obedience. Just the one they want to obey; It shouldn't be so.

An unbeliever cannot know GOD's voice because he or she isn't among the sheepfold. You need to be a child of GOD, a Christian to have the opportunity of building an eternal relationship with GOD.

If you are a Christian, it is your inheritance to know GOD's voice.
