I recently saw a post by my friend @slobberchops about a Steemit-based service that will give a vote a day to people you nominate by sending 1 Steem for each to @steembasicincome. This buys one 'share' of their vote and you get a share for each nomination too. It looks like a share is not worth much now as I got a 1% vote that doesn't have a visible value, but it could add up over time and this has no end date.
You can see here who I have nominated.
- @heymattsokol is a musician I've known for ages. He's working hard to make a living from music and Steemit. I want to support him in that.
- @verhp11 is also a musician who's been posting some cool stuff and engaging with me.
- I met @gillianpearce at the London Cryptocurrency Show. She's just starting out on Steemit.
- @rebeccabe is a long-time friend from before Steemit started.
- @slobberchops introduced me to this scheme and deserves something for his generosity.
It may take a couple of days for the votes to start as they involve some manual processing. They may come from @sbi5.
The incoming amounts from @isotonic are what I get for delegating to this bot that supports #runningproject. That's another way to get some income.
I think Steemit has so much potential for spreading wealth around the world. Let's make the most of it.

I'm on this big time in the last weeks. I'm happy to see your found it too. I've been holding giveaways for sbi and sending these out left and right. I feel like this program is a winner. I went from 1 cent per post 10 days ago to 4 cents now with my sbi vote.

They are about 6 days behind right now since the program seems to be catching on. I have a lot of UBI believers of twitter and I'm using this program as a hook over there to try to get people here.
I did some catching up today and now I'm only a day behind! I love that you're using it to bring people into Steem. That's an idea I'm planning to build more support toward in the future.

The original ones I sent are now active, but how do we know if additional ones added later have been added too? There doesn't appear to be any further notifications after the initial one. A question for the sbi people I suppose.
Apparently there's a spreadsheet somewhere that lists them all. I've not looked yet. I may well nominate some more
I will look for it. If you vote up their article's then that adds to your stake. I don't know how it works. I think I will nominate some more later too, just need to get a few more SBD's in the coffers.

I stumbled upon steem basic income a while ago and did a round of nomination. I upvote when I see it and the daily upvote is slowly increasing in value. So nice to have a nickel on every post automatically when you are a minnow. Also nice to be able to throw a single SBD to sponsor someone who will stick with the platform and work on their content.
Good stuff and way to go spreading the wealth a little more.

Yes, you can look on their spreadsheet to find out who sponsored you.
It definitely helps if your share goes up in the SBI poules. That happens when inactive Steemonians drop down in poules. So I think you should be patient for just a few months.

I don't think I would have spent thousands of hours on steem and not made a dime without thinking that one day it was going to click. I have a positive attitude, but some days when you see haejin make 10 times more than you have in a year after one single crappy post, your heart starts to sink. Thank you for your support

And can you change who your nominated recipients? For example if one becomes inactive on the platform?

Your best bet to see the dollar value of top votes is to use busy.org and hover your mouse over the vote count.

I discovered steembasicincome about a month ago. I've been slowly building up my shares while sponsoring other steemians at the same time. Lately I've been trying to add shares to several people who already had 1 or 2 shares. It seems like a good idea to me.
Its an awesome project...and a nice way to support some hard working fellow....
