I see this being beneficial to the lowest income group of a society and the unemployed. Imagine being spared of the struggle and stress of not knowing where to get your next meal or medicine for the sick members of your family? It can work for the said group but if it will be implemented across the board then the rich people will certainly not agree to it.

I am hopeful the rich might become a little more favourable towards the idea with more proof that UBI boosts the economy by increasing consumer consumption. Or more likely they will just get outvoted:)
