The state minister also urged the factory owners of all kinds to complete the salary payment of the month of May by June 7.
The Eid-ul-Fitr is scheduled to be held on June 16 depending on moon sighting.
Chunnu came up with the announcement at a special meeting of the national crisis management committee at the secretariat office in Dhaka where the representatives from the owners, trade unions, law enforcement agencies and government high-ups took part.
The government and factory owners are taking steps to ensure timely payment of salaries and festival bonuses of 44 lakh garment workers and for the workers of other sectors to avert any unrest ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, he said.
Chunnu urged the factory owners to allocate Eid vacation by phases so that the massive number of workers can leave their workstations without any traffic congestion on roads and highways.
