Could Steem becoming the new Facebook?

in #steem8 years ago

Do you guys intend on making this as big (or bigger) as facebook, with populair people earning revenue, like youtube?

Dear readers,

Since a couple of days I have been reading on steem. I think the concept is amazing, rewarding popular posts with small revenue. I want to make sure I understand it right, before diving deeper into Steem. I have allready purchased around 100 steem tokens, because as an investment, I am sure it will do good.

Let me know your thoughts and what you think steem aims for.

Regards,

If you don't "power up" those steem tokens inflation will start to reduce their value, just a reminder to everyone that buys steem and leaves them at the exchange.

I certainly hope it will. Facebook has proved time and time again that it's as untrustworthy as shit in a kiln. Steemit is the new Facebook, BitChute is the new YouTube, and Gab is the new Twitter - all websites which advocate freedom of speech. Most sane-minded people like FOS, so it's a win.

If you read the top 200 posts on the trending page, you will get a good overview of what people think here. Lots of conversations are specifically about steem. We all believe it will be the new facebook*google*NYT.

haha, honestly i wanted to see how much reward a post gets you (i know it's a beta but still). Can you explain a bit more about that?

The whole mechanism can be simplified into one statement: The more value you create, the more you are rewarded. In addition, it is good to know that if you provide 2x more value you get 4x more reward. Here are a few conversations that give you a better understanding of how things work:

The reason your post hasn't generated much reward is that it wasn't regarded as valuable by the userbase. This same question has been asked a hundred times in different forms. See, it works :-)

It can be better!:)

On this subject, I just made a parody video of a man comparing Steemit to Facebook and Twitter (Risitas, if you know the hilarious video). Let me know what you think: https://steemit.com/funny/@oliverb/funny-man-compares-steemit-com-to-facebook-and-twitter-risitas-parody
