This post should be mandatory reading for all new users who sign up. I get asked so many times by people how to get more upvotes on their posts and I always tell them to stop posting and start commenting!
Personally I love when people actually read my posts and write thoughtful replies. I always upvote those for a pretty good amount. Better comments would bring this platform to a whole 'nother level, in my opinion.
I wish there was a trending page specifically for comments!
I agree completely @yabapmatt.
There is so much to be gained for all by posting comments. Everyone benefits on many different levels.
Yet most new people want to put up an article and make the trending page. When that does not happen, they get frustrated and leave.
That is why I tried to quantify it some. Even if one gets 1/2 the results I get...even 1/3, for a newer person with no SP in their account, it is a great way to start it growing. Plus it will allow people to learn who that person is.
A trending page for comments...now that would be interesting.
I wonder how the commenting will change once the communities is implemented. I actually think it will create more interaction (or is that I am hopeful).
That would be a great idea @yabapmatt and that is supposedly what they must do. But charge to experience, Website owners don't reveal the tricks of the trade. It is always up to the users to explore the site or SteemIt on how he can benefit from it if the user has the enthusiasm and interest to explore more. But to some users who don't have this kind of mindset, they easily get discouraged and discontinue accessing the site.
But to those who have the patience and determination are always get rewarded :) Cheers!
