Crypto Q&A

in #steem6 years ago (edited)

THIS IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE; THIS IS MY JOURNEY. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR MONEY.
Watch at 1.25x speed for a better viewing pleasure!

Money doesn't sit on the table long. When big investors see what Steem is really worth, being two weeks late could be the difference in life-changing opportunity.

The ability for Steem to be the Proof of Brain for the internet and form as a backbone for incentives communities whether it be bloggers, vloggers or Steem Monsters.

We will see projects built on top of Steem (@steemMonsters) that make it easy for people to buy in with fiat. This should be no different for every UI, be it for blogging or videos. An easy fiat on-ramp to Steem is, and we will see that ramp up in the future. People look at exchanges as the end all be all.

99% of people will never, ever use a transaction. I repeat, 99% of people will never, ever use a transaction. How many people buy apple phones as compared to Apple stock.

When someone wants to cash in and out of Steem, the projects that make that the easiest will be the ones that separate themselves from the pack. People wish to have one-click buy Steem in their account and one-click cashout into their legacy fiat wallets (banks, PayPal).

We are here, the foundation, the necessity in the age of Google and Facebook, we are the saving grace.

Would be a conspiracy if big players weren't moving the market down.
Crypto is so speculative and sentiment driven. - sheep
open source crypto is revolutionary since the internet.

Confidence.
Don't let outside influences dictate your beliefs.
Steem was good at 8$ but sucks at .50cents is Fugazi

20mil in a bull market is 5 mil in a bear
The ability to buy blood.
You see why "buy low sell high" is a meme.
Knowledge is power = Confidence to buy blood.

"When millionaires inside trade, price pumps before the run, when billionaires inside trade the price dumps before the run."

Big time traders are feeling weary, possible sign the selling could end.

Steem is your voice, hold it dear.
Nothing great comes without first a bit of uncertainty.

Remember, there is not enough Steem for every user of Reddit to have 1 Steem; if a few Steem are needed to have accounts even function, there isn't much to go around.

Steem Witness Spotlight: @therealwolf

RealWolf's Reasons:
1.) Closing the gap between users and investors and
2.) Bringing value to developers of Steem and the whole eco-system.

My Personal Reasons:

  1. RealWolf- humble, started out with nothing but knew that to have a positive impact he had to build himself up first. "I can't give, what I don't have" - wolf outlook
  2. Made himself easy to approach and seems always to be around.
My, go to with any question, @therealwolf @themarkymark & @acidyo
  3. Introvertish, however self-aware. He once posted admittingly saying he felt uncomfortable speaking out in someones else's thread but thought he should reply. Self-awareness with the ability to self-criticize and overcome being uncomfortable is the recipe to grow limitlessly.

The Final Reasons:

  1. Entrepreneur - Created @smartsteem -which introduced a whitelist model to the community. Recently added smart monsters (a cool way to buy/sell @steemmonsters cards) - adding smart monsters just shows the hustle of therealwolf and are the signs of someone who is successful.
  2. Dev at @utopian-io - trained himself to write Javascript, NodeJS and VueJS in 3 months - because "I had ideas in my mind that I wanted to realize - but for this, I needed the Skills." - This shows determination. Active contributor on GitHub and was instrumental in resolving the post-hf situation with his client tools/assistance.
  3. sees himself as a developer of business ideas. "I like to tinker around here and there and be creative and disruptive." - I'm a serial, and this mindset resonates with me.
  4. Runs a top-notch witness server and is always actively looking to improve it. check here https://therealwolf.me/
  5. He is 110% committed to Steem and proves it with significant skin in the game.

Dan, I'm currently listening to your video, it takes quite a long time (which is great), but I wanted to write the comment already.

Thank you so much for the shoutout. It's an honour being nominated with precessors â Tim, Luke, Aggroed ...

And honestly, you really did your research and painted a pretty accurate picture of myself with your words.

I'm not sure what else to say, haha, still a bit mindblown. (Found out of this post, by @meno messaging me with Dan gave you a massive shoutout!!!!)

I don't know, it feels really good being appreciated in this way. So again, thank you, Dan. I'll work even harder & smarter to keep up with the glory.

Was great chatting with your correspondent on Steemfest³, @nicholaslive (great guy), but next Steemfest I want a personal chat :P

Thanks for being on Steem, dan!

PS: I've sent a small promotion to @smartsteem - so if you see a vote, you know where it's coming from ;)

humble, started out with nothing but knew that to have a positive impact he had to build himself up first. "I can't give, what I don't have" - wolf outlook

Sound advice for the masses here on Steemit...but, not 'just' why I think you're becoming a more interesting fellow to me...

My pleasure, thanks for everything you do. Glad you got to talk to @nicholaslive and I will be at Steemfest4 next year for sure!

Hey @theycallmedan ! Is the place for Steemfest4 already known?
Too bad I could not make it this year. And it was so close to my location...

Great show man. Love the research argument when it comes to buying vs markets that just trade a coin.

I have done a lot of research on STEEM and feel confident in my buys for as long as these prices will last. I'm very surprised to see STEEM tossed around today like it's the dirtiest coin on the coinmarketcap but I guess it's also a huge opportunity for the people that can see it.

Nice shoutout to the @therealwolf. I met this guy on SF3, humble solid guy. Real Steemian. Good witness!

Thanks exyle! It was great chatting with you as well and seeing that you're the same authentic Steemian behind the camera as in the real world. btw, if you keep this tempo up, you're gonna' reach 200k SP ;)

Thanks for answering my question mate. Didn't expect that kind of an answer but I didn't expect anything less too!
"When you stay on the ground and don't chase the money you become like gravity and money flows to you"

Nailed it man. I also keep purchasing steem. Recently become a "dolphin" as they say around here and I love it. Needless to speak about steem's potential. We are all aware of that. I just want to accumulate as much steem as I possibly can before price skyrockets...which it will.

Have a nice day Dan

Gratz on becoming a dolphin!

Thanks man! Next level is going to be a real challenge (50K SP) but hey...I'll do my best!

Really enjoyed it brother, let's get you on mspwaves this weekend. I'll talk to aggroed and ask him, but I'm sure he would love to have you.

Posted using Partiko Android

Wow! I didn't expect an one hour show man. That's freakin awesome. Look forward to more such long shows in the future and more of these Q/A's, definitely.

Thanks for taking the time and answering all of our questions.

Thrid time watching this because first two times was really late at night so I probably missed out on some gems, which I can't afford to.

Dan u are totally right. we should more think about creating value than watching the price and hunt for the quick buck.

I want to make a shoutout to all you out there, that understand what the value of a decentralized, borderless, permissionless cryptocurrency is. Don't waster your time fighting each other about things like BCH or other drama in Crypto. Its not worth it. We should build the community, help and educate each other. The more people know why Bitcoin and decentralization matters the better it is. Devide and conquer: the strategy of the few. Keep this in mind and be constructive, use your energy to do positiv things. Dont use it for hate and fighting about "whats the best investment" or "this coin is a scam" or things like that. Better educate people to recognize scam and how to invest in good projects. Start your own blog, build a node, develop etc. Now, in times when prices are down, create value by your self. Dont focus only on prices. There are endless opportunities.

Get started now!

Thanks.

Thanks Dan for holding this session. You truly add value to the community! ^^

this was great man. really appreciated all the questions and the responses you gave.

loved the point you made about developers bringing in the investors. it’s what i tell people all the time when i’m talking to them about steem...

the development is here. and it’s growing.

and huge high five to @therealwolf one of the first witnesses i voted for and love his products and services.

Posted using Partiko iOS

I always get excited when I hear of a new project on Steem and usually surprised when I find out they have been in development for awhile and already have a working product.

developers will make this blockchain and continue to make it such an awesome place to be. there is so much that is being worked on and flying under the radar. i have a hard time keeping up with it all lol

Posted using Partiko iOS

High five to you back!

Dan, I second your decision on shining the spotlight on @therealwolf. I've been following his work for a while now and am always looking forward what he'll do next. I appreciate all he does for us on Steem and hope to be like him when I grow up. Great video here, I appreciate your knowledge and expertise on the crypto markets and answering people's questions in full detail.

I'll have to have another look at No Limit Coin. I did buy some a while ago but might be a good time to top up. I'll have to try their poker too, I can win at tournament poker, just need to avoid those cash tables :)

Buy when cheap and sell when it's expensive. I think it's a good time to power up when the price of steem goes down. But I have not done it because I am still struggling with funds. Maybe by posting over time my power will go up .

Steem is your voice, hold it dear.

Holding, blogging, accumulating. The numbers look terrifying now but we all gotta hang in there. Thanks for these encouraging words Dan.

Am staying believing in steem, this is why am staying powered up as long as steem exists.

Steem at the current price is a steal. I don't have the means to buy more but I did buy about 170 STEEM in the last week that I powered up and I could not be more happy about my decision.

It might not seem much to most but that is more than double the SP that I previously had in my account.

It's obviously possible that we can go lower than we are now but if you do have the means, get your hands on some cheap STEEM people. It's on sale lol. Like the saying goes... "buy when there's blood on the streets even if it's your own."

Anyway, good luck to all in your Steemit journey. Sooner or later, we will all be really happy because we did not abandon ship!

STEEM to the moon!

Those who endure the journey get to their destination eventually. :)

The line Steem at 8 is great and but not at 0.50 cents is a fugazi is the realest thing I’ve read in a while! Facebook and google are huge but it took them 10 plus years and numerous funding rounds of millions to get where they are today what steem has achieved in its short time is nothing short of remarkable and we only have the best years ahead of us! I really want to grow on this platform and become a influencer and spokesperson for projects like these and use my account as an example of how proof of brain is the future of user generated content

Posted using Partiko iOS

Good point about Fb and Google. FB was unprofitable for 90% of its existence and only recently after buckets of money and time have it become profitable. Steem has paid out 40 million plus it is two-year existence with no VC funding.

Im powering up as much as I can. Its a great opportunity.
Well said this could change in couple of weeks

Listening to the Q&A while playing Steem Monsters. I still need to understand a lot of concepts, but this video gives me hope in these "difficult times".

OK, I've finished listening to the video and I have to say that I like how you think. I need to upgrade my mind and think more like you in terms of not chasing money. My family seems a bit desperate that I'm investing so many time and I'm not cashing out any money (I'm investing some). But I don't care they don't know what I know, I'm confident that I'm spending my time, energy and money correctly and that my work shall bring fruits, if not I would have learned a lot. Thank you a lot for sharing your knowledge!

You the man dan... watching the vid as I write this. Resteemed. 😎

Hey Not actually named Dan, haha. There was 3 minutes from this that I would like to make a Zmotiv video about, may I use your voice and words to make one? You can see what a Zmotiv video is by going to my site, 2nd to most recent post I made was one.

Sure

Here you go Dan, let me know if you want the Raw File. https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@zainenn/b90aj571 thank you for your inspiring words brother.

When someone wants to cash in and out of Steem, the projects that make that the easiest will be the ones that separate themselves from the pack. People wish to have one-click buy Steem in their account and one-click cashout into their legacy fiat wallets (banks, PayPal).

This will be the big one. Earning through use of the apps and being able to cash it out directly or having a system to use it from your phone to either buy goods or a at a debit terminal and tap your steem. This will be the selling point when it goes mainstream. Earn STEEM through actifit and use it to buy new sneakers. Earn STEEM though steepshot and use it to buy a new phone. People will sign up when they don't realize they are signing up to the steem blockchain it will be so similar to using any other app. The only difference will be the wallet with their tokens inside.

Exactly. People want instant gratification and running some miles and getting to buy new sneakers with the points you earn instantly, that is what will change the game.

This is great and I'm not the best at listening to Podcast type content, but your to-the-point answers to all these questions kept me 'on'!

Love the 'leap frog' term, it makes a lot of sense, but sometimes you need to hear it to make it 'click' in your brain. When I worked in e-mental health (developing apps/content for health institutions) I learned how people in some African countries skipped 'desktop' alltogether and immediately went on mobile/apps... In many ways advancing more quickly than many other countries by skipping the 'desktop' step that had to be 'translated' to mobile. (The 'mobile first' thinking had to be introduced in many companies at the time I worked there, but 'over there' there was never anything else than 'mobile first' :D)

The same might happen with banks, digital payment systems - so many people are not ever going to be able to travel to a city to go to a bank to open an account, but a huge portion of those people do own a mobile phone, making it easy for them to transact digitally regardless.

Anyway, the one thing that stood out for me, good job and thanks for sharing your insights!

Doesn't the dumps mean a wider range of people are investing into cryptos?
there is a high transfer volume, somebody is buying, if the whales are dumping it means there are more people investing.

That could be the case, but it's also possible that those whales are the ones buying back again...
Low price may attract some ordinary people but most people are terrified by bear market...

well, more for the miners then. worse case scenario: the whales run out of coins to dump and there would be two options, pump again or leave it at it's true value

Them leaving coins at true value will be good for overall growth of the crypto market. These pumps based on speculation already messed up too many people.

Well said buddy as the market is being under manipulation of big players what we can do is just believe in the projects just like steem though you need to put some efforts and some investment but once you are known among the people you can easily make a living and that is what i am trying to do and almost i have stopped posting post on my facebook hahahahaha. as it does not pay me even a single penny.

Loving the long form video, could listen to you spit truth for hours 🤜🤛

At 6 minutes 13 seconds, I couldn't agree more!!! I've been saying this for a long time now!

I love that comment on the jengga block,
Yeah, not worried... just keep swimming ;D
Haha glitch in the wallet... that's what I said too, that it's a prediction of our future hahaha
I get so much listening to you, it helps me understand this beast
Thank you @theycallmedan

An easy fiat on-ramp to Steem is, and we will see that ramp up in the future.

There 'are' many of us waiting for just such an opportunity... :>)

Estupendo buen post y explicación..

Esperando y confiando que las monedas suban mientras tanto a escribir y participar. @thecallmedan

You have a lot of reason in what you say. I am very skeptical with the crypts, but with steem, I am confident that things will improve.

Nice shout out. I appreciate your positve thoughts and all your research. We have to hang in there. I am as excited for the future of Steems now as I was a year ago.

nice vid, what do you think about the new news about @ned cant pay there Team working on Steemit?

what's the best way for storing my Steem via a ledger s hardware wallet?

Ledger doesn't support STEEM.

Hey Dan! Thanks for this video and again thanks for the SBD you've sent me! I really love your work and dedication for the whole crypto space.

When someone wants to cash in and out of Steem, the projects that make that the easiest will be the ones that separate themselves from the pack. People wish to have one-click buy Steem in their account and one-click cashout into their legacy fiat wallets (banks, PayPal).

This is hyper important, at least in this stage of the game. So many people are dissuaded from buying BTC through a fiat on ramp, then transferring to a altcoin exchange and then getting it here (or to any other place...). Remember, we are talking about the bulk of the population being highly computer illiterate. They can use email and web services, but all this crypto stuff is currently just too daunting (these are people that will have a simple password for their whole digital life).

A simple fiat on and off ramp would be THE killer app for STEEM...

Hey Dan
What do you think about our project - a p2p exchange for Steem blockchain. We have already created an MVP at www.swapsteem.online please check it out and give your humble advice on how we can move ahead to become a leading exchange on Steem.

In spite of how low STEEM is currently traded, we all hope there is a change and, once again, it can be profitable, here we will continue working with the hope that this will happen ... a big hug and may God bless you

Man love watching your videos. You pump me up.
