We make sacrifices in life for things we believe in for far less returns and potential.
I find it incredible what some people are willing to put their time and effort into and then wonder why they aren't where they want to be in life.

It doesn't make sense to me either. I think a lot of people make it out of pure luck than hard work. There seems to be a limited amount willing to do the work required.
