As you have probably heard, there is a little bit of hype (confusion) on whether Justin Sun from TRON is in the process of acquiring Steemit. Just in case you didn't know, Steemit isn't Steem.
It is quite interesting however and whether they buy or not, it is good to have Steem in the news and perhaps some who don't know will start paying attention.
As I mentioned last night in a well-timed post that looked a bit at hype:
Just think how uncertain the future of Steem is as a currency and community and how many people are relatively negative on it. Then consider that there are 2300+ cryptocurrencies currently trading and Steem is one of the most utilized among them and, boasts one of the largest and most active communities with a host of applications that overshadow nearly all others in usage.
It is this usage that many don't seem to know about, but perhaps someone like Justin Sun may consider valuable to integrate into TRON's direction. One of the challenges of crypto and blockchain is getting users and Steem has successfully onboarded tens of thousands of people with many thousands interacting with the blockchain daily doing normal community orientated things.
While it is far from perfect, Steem does indeed have a good track record of usage in comparison to other crypto projects, even though from the inside it may not appear so. This is something that most other projects have been unable to maintain for any length of time and, it has been able to do it without only offering the possibility of financial gain. Sure, this is why most are here, but considering how long the bear market has been and how insignificant the rewards are, people are still here.

As Stem is not Steemit, what TRON would be buying is a private company, however that company doesn't own the blockchain - yet does have a proverbial crapload of STEEM powered up which can be used in various ways. For the rest of us however, what would change as STEEM holders?
Up until now, the Stake that Steemit Inc holds has been largely dormant but it is easy to imagine that it would change if Sun bought all of the holdings. That means that about 40% of the powered up STEEM could become active in various ways, including Witness voting.
It could be at this point that the witnesses might consider lowering the amount of witness votes an account has so that one super large account couldn't vote all 20 consensus positions. Although, I am not sure that even with Steemit Inc's stake that is possible, I would have to do the math later. If they tried, I would predict that other large stakeholders would very quickly band together to make sure they held enough positions to protect the chain.
But regardless, I think that the spotlight being on Steem for a little while would be great going into a bull market, and I am interested to see if there is a spike in signups on the news out of China over the last 24 hours.
I would predict that this is more hype rallying of course, but it is kind of like pre-season theatrics before the first game.
The season start is just around the corner.

I’ve just posted my kool aid post on the matter. I’m with you....all news is not good news, unless you are ranked 88 when you should be in the top 25, then all news is good news

iduno what that means..... :-(
Most of the projects on the list will fail.
Got it!
But wait, aren’t we about to be bought by one of those projects :-D
We aren't, Steemit Inc maybe.
We can't be bought unless we sell :)
There are a lot of nonsense projects in the top 100 that have very little going for them. But at the end of the day, there is room for thousands of tokens and chains.
Well then I guess my prediction for The future of steem is.....that it’ll be interesting!
I will explain a little more. Most of the crypto projects have no usage and are purely speculative. There is nothing behind them but ideas, kind of like the dot on bubble in the late 90s. Investors will eventually pull out and find things with foundation. Hopefully they find steem.
I asked for this last winter 😜 I think it will do STEEM very good concidering the tron community is also huge
Id pretty much wager that its much smaller then the steem community simply due to 70% of top 100 Tron dapps being gambling dapps where you can easily runs scripts and where most dapps fake volume and use.
Yes thats true, i explored tron last year when tronbet and ante token launched, and I hope that steem dont get the same influx of ponzi schemes like shrimp farm 🤣
I havent checked tron chain out since march lol
Dam reply didnt post! I witnessed the start of tronbet and I was amazed at how many people were playing it but then it diversed and i didnt keep track. Steering away from screens again so limited on time for crypto 😊
I agree.
At the most #steem value will rise and benefit us all.
Any news is good news.
We thrive on rumors.
Let us hope if indeed #steemians that endure, find a way to reap some more steem
Rumours are fine. At some point we need more users.

Perhaps, yet here you are each day ;D
What does that have to do with a level of delusion that i don't share with those desperate for their investment to pan out ? It's not as if I read your posts or comment on your redundant spewings you transparently churn out in some attempt to justify your involvement here. Some convenient by products are of course you attract others that share in your need to feel vindicated, the peanut gallery leaves comments that satiate you, and of course you get your auto votes.. I'm clearly not here everyday for the same reasons you are. I also spend no more than a half hour a day max perusing around. Occasionally I like to write on a platform in a way that I'm not compelled to do on other social media platforms. But, that's it. Everyday for how long now have you written essentially the same damn post? How are you not bored to tears? I suppose that's the delusional desperation, but I assure you it stinks and I'm sure the humans in your life would appreciate you doing other things with your time..
You seem bitter.
All these ridiculous posts on a steem acquisition got me a bit more snarky than usual.. Obviously, I'm out of touch with what people wish to read here, and I'm not going to knock your hustle.
You are extremely focused on publishing steem centric content with the occasional dash of "my work and family life" that seems to usually somehow get back to relating to steem. It's working for you..
I suppose I could've just easily unfollowed without leaving my bitter views but this is still the internet and my unwillingness to invest in stake makes my flag impotent within this ecosystem. I can still however speak frankly and simply say, enjoy your 30-75 dollar days here while you can. I find it unlikely that a platform that rewards content like yours, that's not exactly varied, or something I imagine would appeal to many people outside the confines of steem, has all the hopes of success that fills your auto voted material..
You're a good writer and intelligent person I'm just tired of seeing you drivel on about the speculation of steem and how it will dramatically improve the quality of life on earth.. No intentions here of trolling further, do you and stack that steem..
I love the pun in the title of the Post it made for an interesting anticipation of what to expect from the post and as always you never disappoint. All I can see is the publicity is good for Steem
Hoping it will attract attention.
Well, we did see a significant price spike on the (fake?) news, and that while BTC was going down a bit. Hopefully we can hold on to part of those gains till BTC decides to go back up
Yep, there have been a few lately. Two of which were on bittrex only, a good sign as it wasn't bot initiated.
I really hope you’re right, @tarazkp. I’ve had a knot in my stomach since hearing these rumors last night. Once upon a time I was bullshit on TRON, but over the last year and a half, Sun is looking more and more like a stunt CEO and has an obsession with acquiring companies and projects to satisfy his portfolio ego. I’m trying to not dwell on it all until there’s an official announcement but my instincts aren’t great. Maybe that’s my Steemit purist bias.
I am hoping it is rumour only as I am not sure he would offer enough or be keen on not having full control. The witnesses still make the decisions.
If Sun buys steemit, will it remain on the steem chain or can it be moved to the Tron chain? Blockchain Noob asking
The chain is the chain. Steemit Inc is a private company and doesn't own the chain.
Rumors or not, it is in the news, and if some one does buy steemit.inc, I hope they hire some front end developers and give us a better access point with more personalization options. Imagine everyone being able to have their own unique look to their home page. (HTML is just text, and block chains are good at storing text).
Yep. The worst thing is that there are online website builders that could do it I think :D

Well, that's true. However, we must also consider that this same company (Stinc) is the one owning the essential core code of the steem blockchain and who currently leads its evolution and features development. (SMTs, Communities, etc.)
Well, if anything. If it's true Justin Sun ends up acquiring Steemit. We could possibly expect some delays, hiccups, trips ups & slip downs in said evolution and features development.
Yes they own it, but they aren't the only ones who can own it as it is opensource. The witnesses can implement code.
I don't follow what Tron does very closely, but Sun seems to like publicity.
Yeah! looks like publicity, a bit of crypto market's disturbance, some promotional rampage and hype commotion may well be behind of Sun pleasures and bizniz strategies through this all of the sudden news and rumors.
In any case, I suspect all this white noise could only benefit us in the short term compared to the evident mainstream marketing shyness shown by Stinc all these years. };)
As for the fact that the steem code is opensource and it can be implemented by the witnesses and everyone else. Yes that's true, but also would imply further atomization and fragmentation of the common goals scattered across many different tribe interests which could probably slow down the march to where we all as a collective want to arrive asap.
Justin did buy poloniex, they hold shit loads of steem 😉😀

There was about 4 mil left after the close of the transfer period.
Steemit = inbound lead generation for TRON
it makes sense for Justin Sun to do just buyout STINC stake and rain STEEM airdrops on Troners and vice versa , cross-pollinate the demographics and then switch out the STEEM protocol with TRON at some point.
