I am normally a little negative in my approach to some things at Steem but there is one thing that does bring a smile to my face. As price of Steem increases, the value of the post payouts go up. Of course, it is a little bit of a lie as essentially, the same amount of Steem will be generated but, it does feel like things are happening on platform too.
At the moment, price is up about 20 percent which means a 10 dollar payout in ~3 days will read about 12. Now, here is a little bit of an opportunity isn't there since there will be 20 percent more SBD generated also (at 50/50) which means for those interested, they can perhaps buy a little extra Steem.
Since I am a long-term investor here, the current prices of steem are irrelevant since, I am not going to sell. The SBD price is only really significant because of the Steem I might buy with it so it is nice to have it high even though it isn't how it is meant to work. When I think of price, it is about future potential price.
Some people will only post when prices are high but for those who are thinking long, even 1 Steem now has the potential to be worth 20x that in a year. Yes, it is not guaranteed and is a risk but that is investing. For those investing now, the potential future of steem price outweighs the current and earning even small amounts of Steem now are seen as valuable.
And perhaps this is where the feeling comes as prices of posts increase. Maybe it is a reminder that there is a tomorrow where the investment and groundwork laid starts to build into something much larger. Maybe people should ask themselves what their time is worth today and, what today's time might be worth tomorrow.
An hour invested into the right thing at the right time may be worth 100 or 1000 hours invested into something else. Tie is a resource so don't waste it, patience is a virtue so invest in it.

Most of the people I follow are not posting too often too... I last saw some in December. Lol.
Out of sheer curiosity though, will steem ever go as up as it did in December again?
I predict that December was a precursor of things to come for the entire market. I think it was some kind of proof of concept for the investors and the next few years are going to have some enormous waves.
Thank you!
Those people who complained "Steem is too expensive to buy into" for the past few months now got what they asked for. Would they now buy or complained that the price has dropped?
I fall into a weird third category. It's the "I already bought STEEM and I want to buy more, but any time I am about to buy, there's a huge pump before I can get in" category.
Y'all are celebrating the price increase, and I'm sitting here like... damn you all :'D Now if I buy, I'll get like 25% less for my money :(
Ah well. I still think it's undervalued by at least one or two zeros.
as they say, if you snooze you lose. But, I don't think it will be more than an emotional loss
2 zeroes would be nice, 1 in the short term would do to keep the spirits up. :P
25% less? You sure?
I'd say that as long as steem total marketcap isn't at least a billion its undervalued
I will assume not many bought ;)
It is true...
Investing is a risk. But if you have majority of your money invested in Steem (I hope note), then it is a high risk/reward thing.
Other than that, thinking long term is the best approach in any investing game.
Good luck to all of us.
I have time and energy mostly invested. and the high reward is much greater than the risk.
I've been very busy on both the work and home front lately and haven't had the chance to come on much, but I have been sitting on some SBD waiting for the SBD/Steem rate to go up - i've been watching it on this site that I linked a while back as it's good to be able to see a quick and easy chart.
but wtf happened? it was climbing back to .9+ and then crashed 15% in half a day!
Lol.. perhaps people got a little more SBD because Steem was up and sold :D
Hi Taraz. Looking forward to the increase even if it means getting SBD for a while and not so much Steem. If it gets people commenting again and a little busier it can't be that bad.

Thank u for your kind information.
This really hit me in the head. As short as this post may look, I have to admit that it is the most educative piece about steem I've seen for a while.
Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you for the advice on time investment.
Steem is doing particularly well.
