Hi there.
It's been a while since I did a Saturday post. Such posts were usually about Steemit, but Steemit had been stagnating for so long that there was little to write about.
But now things are finally changing.
HF 20 and the new Steemit
There was a little trouble when the fork was first implemented. I understand why some people are upset.
But have you seen what's happening with post rewards? Mine are gradually getting bigger, even though they aren't getting more upvotes and the price of Steem is not increasing.
Why is that?
I can only imagine that the reward pool, which before HF20 was constantly being drained by millions of wasteful upvotes from reckless bots, is now starting to refill. Spammy upvoting and commenting by people with low Steem Power but way too much time chipped away at everyone's rewards.
And that kept Steemit down.
With the new Hard Fork, rewards seem to be getting bigger, which will undoubtedly attract more quality to the site and, eventually, energize the price of Steem.
I'm Glad I Didn't Quit
It would have been easy to leave the platform at any time during the dark days. I could have powered down, sold off my Steem and disappeared.
Yet now it seems that we have a fighting chance again to make Steemit the crown jewel of all social media. I hope more changes like HF20 are in the works to make the platform valuable.
And when we come into our own, everyone who is already part of the phenomenon now will be glad that they were early adopters. Hooray for us!

Yeah reward pool seems bigger now! But I hate it! Coz more supply makes less demand! This is what I fear to see!

Demand will follow supply. Once everyone sees how big (in dollars) the rewards are, more people will want to earn Steem, which will increase the price of Steem, which will increase demand again.

In that case, we need less RC to control the Free earning and increase the demand we should be Premium, like STEEM INC says Freemium!

I am also here and i will always be here, Well the reward pool is increasing because steem price is getting lower and we are getting more sp we were getting before, and it's a great thing, steem reward pool has been all time high and reaching 1 million in two or three days,

Hi @talanhorne i like how the things are going right now i mean the new protocol works better and the rewards are bigger based in the new protocol based in the pool i think steemit has a good future and i want to see adds for the next update. Regards

Yeah the Reward pool filled up to its highest till now because the token creation in between went on but due to less activity during the HF 20 scenario many users were not able to post so it got filled up it will likely to go down now :)

I certainly noticed the increased payouts, but I thought it was from STEEM rising to $0.98 after spending so much time under $0.90.
You might be right that the introduction of resource credits has effectively shut down the spam bots. That would be a great improvement, especially if minnows can see real benefits. Do you know if there is a way to track the spam volume on the network?

In fact HF20 considering every steemian's. Anybody can see steem price getting down from little bit. But our rewards increase day by day. It's big news to us.
Lets hope HF brings the changes we all seek. Not going to quit anytime soon, here for the long game

It's been an interesting ride since HF20. Its nice that we are starting to see some positive change taking place. Watching a posts reward increase is pretty amazing. I'm so used to it starting our high and quickly dwindling as the days go by. hahaha. I'm glad it has reversed

I love the way steemit is progress, Hard fork was implemented to reduce the abuse that was happening due to bots, it was a good step.
I think Steem is moving towards pay to play which I don't think is necessarily a bad thing and may be necessary. I'm glad I got in while it was free. :)

Hard fork is not good for users who has less sp, my sis just do 3 or 4 comments in the course of five days :(
