One little problem. I followed your instructions but when I click steemd that last time, a window just flashes really quick and then nothing. Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

I figured it out lol. stupid. I deleted the quotations around my username by mistake. Thanks for the post.
excellent!
check your config file and make sure you have the key in the right place. If it's incorrect, it will close quickly. Make sure you get the right key from your wallet --> preferences
