BTC Deposit Issues

in #steem9 years ago

Is it just me or are other steemers experiencing any issues depositing BTC to their accounts, to get STEEM POWER.
It was sent successful from my exchange and it says it was deposited to my steemit account, and it also says the time it was "broadcasted". Despite all that, I still don't see the value reflected on my overall STEEM POWER (SP).

I have sent an email to contact@steemit.com, and no responses yet.

Now, same problem to me. I have purchase some power & it shows as "broadcasted" but, my balance is not updated .......... What can I do now ?

I would advice you to wait.
Mine has finally posted - about 5-6 hours ago.

I think they have a huge amount of people they servicing + the fact they trying to fully recover from the hack and create a state-of-the-art multi factor authentication.

I hope it gets posted for you soon :)

Hey, is there like an instruction "How To" on depositing bitcoin to steemit?

No, there isn't any video/instrusctions on how to that I have seen, but I figured it out.
It's a pretty easy process:

  1. go to the "wallet" tab on your account.
  • you can get to wallet from clicking on your profile pic/avatar on the top right when logged in
  1. Click on the dropdown arrow next to the number on your STEEM POWER balances
  2. Click Deposit
  3. Select what you want to use (in this case BTC)
  4. Copy the address beside the "send bitcoin to"
  5. Take that address to your exchange (coinbase, bittrex, poloniex)
  6. Send the amount of bitcoins you want to send to the address you copied from steemit.
  7. After it arrives (might have to refresh a few times - sometimes is fast, othertimes it isn't) - be patient.
  8. Copy the amount to deposited bitcoins and past it into the box under "estimate using bitcoin"
  9. Click "Get Estimate"
  10. Click "Update Estimate"
  11. Wait until you see it says "broadcasted" under the Transaction History at the bottom

Let's Steem

did you buy your steem power through Blocktrades ???

Yeah, I think that's the only way you can.

Try bittrex or openledger. Both platforms work consistently.

Yeah, but this site uses blocktrades and you can send from any exchange as long as you use the BTC address.

Which site you refer to as using blocktrades? Same thing you mention applies to the exchanges I mention and their spreads are times better than blocktrades.

I was saying steemit uses mainly blocktrades. I believe it is integrated into their system/website. That's why anytime you make a deposit, it says something similar to the below in history:

receive xxx.xx STEEM POWER from blocktrades
