RE: Steem reflections | I'm an author, a curator, an investor and value bringer. Or am I not?

in #steem6 years ago

I feel that I have several roles here as well. I came here as a content creator. Eventually, I became an investor as well. Investing gave me more of a say as a curator. When I bought my first chunk of Steem I used a lot of SP to reward people entering my contests. At that point I was getting 100 to 200 entries. So I consumed a lot of my SP. With the bear market my contests became considerably less popular. So I packed them in. These days I curate what I can but I also sell votes through smartmarket. I have my own blacklist to try and keep votes from bot abusers.

After HF21, I will put a lot more effort into curating content. I quite enjoy it. In the current environment, it feels frustrating putting a lot of effort into curating when I could earn 3 times more by doing nothing. So I am happy that is about to change.
