RE: Negative Voting and Steem

in #steem8 years ago (edited)

good post and leaves a lot to think about. new members with low ratings are the ones that have the most to lose by downvoting. all someone has to do is flag every post and comment they have made and they become a ghost. I have seen a whale basically remove someone from steemit because they didn't like the person. he is now a ghost with a negative rating all because of one person. he has been posting his experience all over and it is growing a lot of attention. a lot of people i know will not join steemit because they don't like the fact that some asshole can go out of there way to destroy a noobs account and not be held accountable. in fact she received a lot of up votes because she played the victim after spending 24 hours flagging anything he posted. she then turned it around to boohoo this guy wont leave me alone with comments asking why she downvoted anything he ever posted. I do not think giving the easily offended the power to flagg people for no reason will do anything good for this site. if anything it is going to make people avoid it. that's just how I feel after watching a friend lose his account for no reason and how others reacted to his story. I know of many people I would like to see come here but they wont even consider this site after word started spreading how the rating system worked. it sux!
