I like ASEs for all the reasons you mentioned. But because I started out as a coin collector before I became a weight stacker, I appreciate a multitude of other coins (mostly for their aesthetic beauty).

That said, I do try to stick to standard weight coins like Canadian, Australian, Chinese, Perth Mint, etc. I try to stay away from odd sized coins and sterling silver in favor of .999 & .9999.

The one exception is American "junk" silver. I like to stack ones as close to 1964 as I can.

That's a lot of exceptions, but what the heck, I love to stack!
