RE: Valuing Cryptocurrencies Based on Competitive Advantage

in #steem โ€ข 7 years ago (edited)

Great post. My turn now. ๐Ÿ˜

Alright. Im a musician and a crypto enthusiast of 4 months so i might be talking rubish. Hehe.

But... What ive learned so far on our Bitcoin grandpapy is that at current tech it doesnt really have a future as a global currency, thus the switch to "store of value" sell.
The thing is that currency needs to be stable enough so when i go buy my bread, from the time i leave the house to the time i get to the store the amount of bread i can buy shouldnt change that much.
To achieve that you need BTC at 1mil dollars at least. Considering that only the Apple stock has almost twice market capitalization then the whole crypto market that isnt really that unreasonable.
Then theres the issue of instant transactions i dont see bitcoin being able to achive for day to day payments....

You know what blockchain can achieve that?๐Ÿ˜‰ Steem โค.
Alright sure we live here. Steem is lord. But whats the problem here? We have lightning speed transactions. But......

Low market cap, wobly feet leadership, and that damned stake based reward system. How does that system fix the societal problems that we have now. In no way at all. It just makes them worse. Now SMTs are incoming and if the new system 1 account/1 vote fixes this, and fixes it well, we might be looking at a "revolution" that @ned so phlegmatically states. (No way he reads this or my blog is dead. haha.)...
You have everything set for a world currency. A user base, instant transactions, scalability.. Every single thing. All you need is investors and with larger adoption of crypto the speculation aspect will fall off leaving us in a healthy economy.

The others... Not sure what to say. EOS i dont see having anything but the promise to fix steem downfalls that Ned will hopefully manage to fix with SMTs.
And Eth is stale already as you said with competitors coming in.

Thats about it. Haha.
Ill probably copy this so i have something to throw around as my opinion on crypto. Haha
Ned should probably let me speak at a conference.
"For Steem, speaking today, Marica with her trusty violin."
