We knew at the moment ATH beginning on December 2017 and ended at middle January 2018, these time was the best moment for the crypto holder while they saw on their assets sky rocket by ATH, during the moment all cryptocurrencies stayed on ATH, while you can saw at Bitcoin Price hit the highest prices of all for about $17.527 USD also followed by anothers.
Meanwhile #STEEM highest prices on market, we can see the highest prices hit on $8,12 at January 2018, this was the best moment of all for the whole steemian, you know why! :-D
So, we knew the prices isn't quite strong for holding the stage at long time, yup! the highlt Fluctuates was, beside there are another reasons that effected the Steem Market itself, by the Steem Chain orientation we already knew that there are mechanism on Steem network such as on the #Steemit platform which is consisted by Steem Power, Steem Dollar and Steem while the reputation of its users defines whereas Whales, Minnow and Plankton beside there are another important parties called Witness. Those parties plays big roles on the Steem Network as they're as the guard for Steem balanced.
But, recently while we steal a glance to Steem Market Prices, the significant look on the chart revealed that what's going now, the down trend flowed keep perennially without any supported that shown for steem prices recover. On May 2018, Steem prices as we know still on its normal between $1 USD above, whereas by now we can see it was totally drop below $1 USD. Yup, it must be caused by reasons then the prices keep perennially down on trend. Whether it caused by the whales that recently powering down their steem power, or some steem trader that keep sell their steem or some of problem within witnesess or etc. I don't really know, cause I'm not expert in this analysis, I just can observed the issues and revealed some short, simply here.
When we really understood how the cryptocurrency orientation on its prices forecast or trading/exchange and keep the prices strong, we will exactly find the reason why behind all this issues. Beside for the record on steemit platform, there are a small epidemic cases while the steemian provided the fake content or plagiarism on certain content they posted. Generally, we knew that this cases will not effected the Steem Price at all, but in another cases it will decreased the other proclivity in the other words many intellectual or smart individual will not see steemit as the highly valuable platform which is oriented on social media, blogging and etc. This case must be as the awareness for all steemian in keeping our steemit still as the highly valuable platform that provided the great content, valuable, qualified information and many other positive opinion while the others saw it.
Steem Prices
As you can see on the picture described that Steem still on its 50 orientarion rank, which is Steem staged on rank 36, we knew for its track record Steem still have a good value on the markets also plays specials role on its platform/network. By the time, @ned released the SMT network/project on Steem Chain, there are several innovation brought beside also there are some over contraditction on certain discussion, I don't know I just see the whole project its like the games for now. While its indeed there must be positives/benefits we can got if we understood how the ways plugged.

What Happen Till the Price Kept Falling Down on Trend?

I don't really know about why the steem prices kept falling on down trend by now, but for the simple explanation based on short and simplify observed what the following discussion above can be over look as simply analysis.
Beside, you can also develop by your self in seeing through this cases by digging more information and observed the market chart and news.
