How Asking One Question Will Change History, and Why Steem is the Key

I've been thinking more about @dan's Trojan Horse.  And what's occurring to me is just how big of a horse it is.  Or rather, just how big of a city it's been snuck into.

Steem isn't just a social media platform.  And it's not even "just" the maretplace or "just" the currency that @dan's "evil" plan promises.  Rather, it's a whole different way for humans to organize, manage themselves and relate to one other.  It's a co-op and a commons all rolled into one, meaning that the whole freaking thing is operated exclusively for the economic and social benefit of its users.  It is, quite simply, the skeleton upon which the post-capitalist economy will be built.

In capitalist economies, producers and consumers are differentiated and somewhat segregated--owners of capital produce goods and services that are ultimately used by others.  But, in the Steem blockchain model, producers and consumers, employers and employees, are united--they become one and the same.  And, the more effectively someone uses Steem-enabled services, the larger their "stake" in the overall Steem system.

As millions and eventually billions join Steem, they will experience first hand and for the first time the true power and economic benefit of blockchains.  And, once they do, they will assuredly ask themselves a simple but dangerous and disruptive question: "Why doesn't everything work like this?"

Why indeed.  Why isn't Uber operated exclusively for the financial and social benefit its drivers and riders?  Why isn't Airbnb operated exclusively for the financial and social benefit of property owners and their guests?  Why aren't banks operated exclusively for the financial and social benefit of savers and borrowers?

And then it dawns on you:  In the Steem-enabled blockchain world, there's no reason.  No reason at all.  All of these businesses, and a great many more, can be completely replaced by user-benefiting blockchains.

In the face of a simple question, the old economic order crumbles and a new one is reborn.

Sort:

It's similar to the concept of an employee owned company... or a customer owned company... or a co-op all in one.

The reason other industries or companies don't work this way is due to profit and power. I think this site is a great example of how people are taking the power back into their own hands and changing the way things are done.

We're certainly the new dawn rising!
