I had a feeling that was the case.

When people are in groups, they tend to think the same way. Maybe someone at some point said something negative about STEEM. Others thought it sounded cool, so they want to be like that person. It's like the popular kid in school surrounded by a group of dorks who act like him just to fit in. If he likes a particular hockey team, the others will like that hockey team. If one person says, "No, I think the other team is going to win," they beat the shit out of him or worse, banish him from the tribe. With so much social status on the line, the weak mind will bite their tongue.

It might not actually have anything to do with STEEM. It could be that desire to fit in.
