✳️ Working Hard is Not Enough! - Creating Wealth

in #steem7 years ago (edited)

✅ I know lots of people who work very hard at their jobs for years who never really created wealth. I've always believed that hard work without a sound strategy could result in wasteful effort! I saw this video which echos my belief.

Happy steeming everyone!

Most at times hard work won't make you rich or wealthy and most at times its just grace

To achieve success you have to leave your comfort zone and that is sometimes scary but worth it in my opinion.

Absolutely! Thanks for the comment 👍

Yeah, it isn't simply working hard.

You have to put your effort into learning skills that are valuable to the market. Lots of people work hard at a job, but do they work hard at improving themselves, adding effort to their talents to improve their skills, and then adding effort to their skills to produce value?

No, most do not. Sadly, they do not have the motivation and grit to do it. Speaking of grit, I posted recently about Angela Duckworth's book. She talks about grit and passion and why they are key to being successful.

Look up her book for more information, and/or check out my post for a short summary of the wisdom she shared. Here is the simple formula she came up with though:

Talent X Effort = Skill
Skill X Effort = Acheivement

Building on a natural talent is the best option, and being passionate about that skill helps tremendously. Why? Effort is key. Therefore, being naturally good at something and passionate about it makes putting the effort in easy!

Agreed! Thanks for the comment

Also working smarter! I can work hard spending all day digging a single ditch with a shovel, or I can work hard while using a backhoe and dig more ditches.

Yes! Today, compared with previous generations, people need to rely more on smarts and planning to achieve wealth. But, the "Do" mentality is very powerful and is still better than "analysis paralysis". (IMO)Thanks for commenting.
