I think this may be a positive development for Steem users, because some depend on YouTube view counts for some of their revenue, but I've found today that none of these videos will play in the embedded player. I have to click on the little "YouTube" icon in the player and actually go to the website to watch. The reason it will help view counts, however, is because YouTube was initially not counting views when viewed from Steemit. Now they're just forcing redirects, which makes all of the views count towards ad revenue for those who have monetized.
