Ways to earn steem by methods other than posting articles

in #steem7 years ago (edited)

Initially when someone joins steemit, they think that the only way to earn here is to write articles. But let me tell you, that's not it. There are numerous ways to earn on the steem blockchain.

  • Commenting

Its surprising that so many people don't know this but, YOU CAN EARN EVEN THROUGH COMMENTS.

Any piece of content, be it a post or a comment is the same on steemit. So if someone likes your comment on their post and gives it an upvote, you'll get that payout.

One way to go about that is to find users who reward valuable comments and to post good comments. Don't spam 'nice post' on every other post but actually take the time to read the post and then comment on it.

I try to give 40-60% upvotes to users who actually read my post and write insightful comments. I might also visit your blog if you left an awesome comment or I might give you a 100% upvote.

But, please don't spam.

Authors can smell spam from a mile away!

  • Posting videos on d.tube

Just like youtube, dtube is a video sharing platform on the steem blockchain. So you can earn by posting videos as well and when you post something on dtube it gets shared on steemit too.

  • Posting audio on dsound.audio

Screenshot (14).png

Just like dtube where you can post video, here you can post audio clips.

  • Posting images through steepshot.io

Screenshot (13).png

Here you can post images directly on the steem blockchain. They also have iOS and android apps so you can share your images on the go!

  • Posting memes through dmania.lol or decentmeme.com

Yes, you read that right!

You can earn money by posting memes! Hop on and start posting some memes or mimis or maymays or whatever else you call them.

  • Play a game of steemgar

There is a steem version of the game agar.io which gives money to the winners. There are 3 winners on every game and no participation fee.

A new game starts every 30 minutes which lasts for a few minutes.

So hop on to @steemplayroom and join in the next game.

  • Contribute to open source projects on utopian.io

If you are a developer, you can earn steem by contributing to open source projects on utopian.io . They also have a unique 1UP system which rewards you, aside from that they also have a whale account which curates projects.

  • Edit: I forgot to mention DLIVE

Here you can stream live videos in a decentralized way.

I remember I used to make all my money from comments when my posts were not really noticed then people began to visit my blog and upvote that as well, it feels great

True. I used to do the same before.
I even got a whopping 70$ on a comment once right before the last hardfork.

I totally agree with you. Commenting is the key for newbies. I am a living example, I write some good articles, but hardly got noticed so I decided to always comment on people's blog and i know it has really helped me a lot.

Yeah. When I was new I used to comment a lot. It worked in the long run.

You missed the Zap, decentralize tweeter and dlive,

But wouldn't that be similar to writing posts on steemit?
The only difference is that they have a character limit. So I didn't include it.

i think it's worth to mention,

I have heard about you from a friend named Sagar. I was at Tezpur when The firepower came and you guys were also there, due to some reasons I missed the opportunity to meet you guys. I want you to give some suggestions and tips,as my articles don't get much views and upvotes, where if some of my friend even writes a line they earn.. Please help me

First you'll need to comment on other's posts rather than writing your own.
Then you'll need to build connections and make friends on steemit.
Once you do that, you'll probably start getting upvotes on your posts.

Thanks bro.. For the advice :-)

@rahul.stan Indeed a useful info and the time you would have taken to gather the same.

But I think we all need to focus on the part that Its a human community and connections are the most important part. Moreover, connections that are insightful and value addition

Well, @rahul.stan true indeed If you drill it down its a simple world of producers and consumers. And both of them wants quality insight as at the end of the day its some humans writing and some connecting to them. Cheers and thanks for information

Thanks for the information brother @rahul.stan

Yeah I too was following that step commenting to an article also making me a money

Sneaky Ninja Attack! You have just been defended with a 20.03% upvote!
I was summoned by rahul.stan. I have done their bidding and now I will vanish…
woosh

P.S. If you or anyone you know has been a victim of @grumpycat please know that he has been harming people throughout Sōsharumedia (ソーシャルメディア). Stealing the service that I (and other bots) have provided them and hiding behind a facade of stopping bid bot abuse which he clearly has no interest in.
Sneaky Ninja is a very responsible bot, working directly with steemcleaners, actively pursuing spam and abuse on our platform. If you would like to see what steps Sneaky Ninja has taken to fight bid bot abuse see this post and this post. Also know that I am working daily on other solutions.
If you would like to know my personal take on bid bot abuse and why I do not agree with the 3.5 day rule, see this post

Thnx for in-depth analysis of various ways of earning Steem. I know most of them or I can say I at least have heard about those programs through which you can accumulate Steem. Dtube & commenting are the ones which I mainly focus. I remember I have got a maximum of 4.5 dollars for a comment and it feels really great when I see that my comment got its real worth or the person has given me my real worth.

Informative as well as helpful post.
Will try posting in steepshot.

Wow great.

Hey! How did you make that gif??? @rahul.stan

you forget to mention that most of them take a big % of your reward pool !
