I'm very excited to announce my latest project that I have been working on for the last couple of weeks.
SteemBlockExplorer.com - A Steem Block Explorer
SteemBlockExplorer.com is a live block explorer for the Steem blockchain.
On the homepage:
- The latest blocks produced by the Steem witnesses.
- Blockchain properties, lots of data :)
- Reward pool
- Top 20 witnesses
You can use the search on top of the page to search for any block, transaction or your own Steem username.
There's an option 'Auto update' in the top left corner so you never have to refresh the page. The latest blocks from the Steem blockchain are added to the webpage in real-time and all other statistics are updated in real-time as well.

It is not hard to learn, there a lot of resources on youtube, just requires you to be determined, since I had no mentor I had to learn it myself
Nice. Could you give a few list of such resources? Maybe names of some YouTube videos to watch. I'll really appreciate.
There are numerous options to go for if you want learn to design a website, there are programs such as (WYSIWYG) editors that aid you or sites such as Wix that can help you design a full fledge website in minutes for a small fee. But if you really want full control and knowledge of the code that controls your website you will need some certain skills.
Some resources you can view:
Please make sure to subscribe to his channel and watch all the video tutorials (about 52).
Another person you can view tutorials on stuff about coding is jacktutorials.
(The only thing you need for this is a text editor such as Notepad++, leafpad, nano or vim(usually for experts))
2)After that, you can learn how to use JQuery to make your site more responsive, interactive and even include animation. Just search through youtube for video tutorials, there are a lot.
4)Learn how to host your website using FTP (File Transfer Protocol) servers

I checked it: neat, clean and intuitive. One thing I am missing is the STEEM richlist. Steemwhales.com is not updated for eons. In steemdb.com, one can check vests (not sp), steem, sbd holdings separately. Since STEEM is little bit complex, for example, one can hold STEEM, SP, and SBD together. It would be great that if a richlist shows total valuation in USD including STEEM, SP and SBD. It will be comparable to other richlist such as Litecoin or Bitcoin.

I really want to learn how to code.
I have a lot of knowledge about blockchains to a certain degree, but when people call me "so smart" because of what I know I actually feel like an idiot.
I have no idea how to code or to even read bitcoin or steemits code...so how smart can I really be...
I have NO clue where to start...I was at he library and picked up this big heavy book "C++ for dummies" and I felt like a moron on page 1 it was like I was reading egyption hieroglyphics...I assumed I had to do learn so much more before even learning C++...and the worst part is I don't even know if knowing C++ will help me understand bitcoins code or anything...
anyone been down this path before and can set me on the right direction?

For me, as a totally new Steemian, your dev @penguinpablo shows a world of opportunities. Somewhat below you mention piecharts for visualisation - that sounds like a neat add-on - perhaps you've considered PowerBI?

Or Coursera, I took the Stanford CS106 I think? Started with Java then C or C++ the algorithms valuable stuff! And later iOS. Do the homework assignments!!
I am on this same path as well. I started learning python last summer and took the online harvard MOOC class. My advice is not to get caught up in the syntax so much, but more on the concepts. Syntax just depends on the language, but the concepts are whats really important in CS.

Connection to Steem node failed... Error: The WS connection was closed before this operation was madeI have just added an option to select another Steem node.

It seems that a small number of people cannot reach the node and get this error.
I'm going to add an option next week to select another node when this error appears.
Awesome! It failed on my Firefox and Chrome but I was able to make it work on my Opera.
I love it! It really looks great. Did you think of any other features you wanted to had? I'd sure love to see the vest of people who are approving my witness or even better the effective vest if they have some people proxied to them.
I love that the comments are there right on the block explorer. It could easily become my most useful tool. Right now this goes to Steemd but with the embeded comments your explorer could take the crown if I can make it work on my Firefox. It must be some addon interfering.

Good to hear you have it working in Opera for now. I let you know when I've added the option to select another node. (Next week)
The first feature I want to add is a page for each post where you can see each upvote on that post and how much value each vote added.
If I can manage to build it I want a pie chart with all votes on a post. Real-time updated of course :)

It is totally unusable without Javascript.
Even steemdb.com is better because of it.
Still it is functional unlike netuoso's and followbtcnews' frauds.
