Steemit is a nice site for people that like to post, and also like to earn a little extra money.

Signing Up

Our sign-up was easy. All that was required was a valid email address, and an sms capable phone. However, we had to wait a few days until our account was "accepted". It seems to us that this could be streamlined somehow. We understand the necessity of verification, but, a few hours should be the maximum amount of time required for that.

After we were accepted, we were given a link to complete registration. There was an error for about an hour. The @steem account did not have enough "steem power" to create our account. An hour later though we tried again, and it was no problem.

After account was created, we had a balance of 0.5 "Steem Power", plus we were delegated extra "voting power" to help us get the account started.

Interface

The interface is crisp, and very user friendly. There is an option for "night mode", if the main version is too bright for you.

Clicking your image gives you a few different links:

Feed:

This takes you to a page that is apparently customized by your choices of whom you "follow" or not.

Blog:

Is the link to your own personal blog/page.

Comments:

This is a link to all the comments you have made on the site.

Replies:

This is a link to all the replies you have received from others.

Wallet:

This is a link to your onsite wallet that controls your Steem, Steem Dollars, Steem Power, Savings, and also it shows the "estimated account value".

Toggle Night Mode:

As we said before, this changes the css from light to dark.

Change Password:

Self-explanatory.

Settings:

See above.

Logout:

Logs you out of the site(better hope you have saved your password somewhere).

Beside the profile pic is another drop-down menu with other links.

Takes you to a nice little quick-start guide.

This shows you a page with topics, and statistics.

This is out of the range of our review, but, basically this is where you vote for the people that keep the site moving, and blocks processing.

The main Steemit page has options to explore posts based on topics, category, popularity, and many other variations.
The search function seems to use google as a search feature, which is a little weird.

Overall, Steemit seems like a great place to earn a little extra money for what many of us do all day(for free) anyway...post stuff on the internets.

Sometime in the future, as out knowledge of steemit.com increases, we will try to do a review with more intricate details of the more advanced features.
