That's right: If I believe in anything, I have to bet everything on it. Maybe it's a bit of a blind attitude, but that's what it means to be an entrepreneur: a person who sees the possibilities where others don't see them. I don't think taking something you spend a lot of time on seriously is smart. Like when you start a love affair. At first, perhaps, you get to know each other, then, when you have already met, you decide to continue and bet on a future.
