But it will get better and better, people dont realize that alll our free money is MINED the same way bitcoin is mined...the difference with steemit is that a portion of the steem the steemit nodes/witnesses mine is given to our rewards pool and thats where all this "free money" is coming from

Am I right that steem's version of mining is writing and reading? I don't know a lot about cryptocurrency yet ... but I like this idea a lot compared to the type of mining that goes to produce bitcoin for example. Maybe I'm getting it all wrong [correct me if so]. Wonderful that you can convert the value of your writing/attention into a kind of coinage that takes on a life of its own. I'm guessing it is THE POINT, but it seems more meaningful & more authentically valuable than some Government minting coins somewhere because people actually judged it valuable in a very democratic way right?
