Let me get into it right away. The biggest driver for content creation is making money. Steemit has been successful in grabbing attention of hundreds of people coming and looking for money making techniques. now this could get this website in to a dilemma.
there are two approaches this community could go in for.
Twitter like approach: this could lead this community to fail. if you have been to twitter, you might have noticed (or not) that they filter nothing. you see all the posts and updates from who ever you are following, whether you like it or not. it becomes crowded. now on twitter there are many people (a lot i mean) who do not even go there to get updates of to scroll through, they look for their mentions, post what ever they have to and go. so people are losing interest in the feed.
Facebook like approach: this is very interesting, Facebook is much more intelligent then you can think of. they continuously observe the pattern and interest of the user. and only show the post which "they think" might interest the user. if you ignored posts from some one (by ignore i meant you kept on scrolling and did not stop to stare) you will start seeing less of that person and eventually you might not see anything, but if you comment on a persons post. you see more of them or at least more of that type of posts.
Now it depends on steemit management, whether they allow people to spam or they manage this from the beginning.
