Steem is the Future of Blogging

in #steem7 years ago

When I first started blogging through Google's "Blogger" roughly 5 years ago, I never could have envisioned that such a groundbreakingly superior blog/journal system like Steem was possible to create. Of course, I may have been somewhat technologically naive at the time, making such an assessment given that I was clueless with regard to blockchains back then, but nevertheless I am stunned by how brilliant the concept of Steem is.

A blog that has an inherent monetisation feature as opposed to reliance on advertising really is amazing and I really believe that it is only a matter of time before Steem becomes mainstream and breathes new life into amateur journalism, and perhaps even professional journalism to some extent. In the past, many people who blogged, whether as a full time career aspiration, a part time endeavour or just on a casual basis, ended up being buried by the sheer scope of the online world with no way no receive any exposure and many brilliant writers who produced many incredible pieces of prose and poetry never got the respect and financial acknowledgement that their efforts merited. Forgotten to time, their works are now like hidden gems, hidden from all but the most serious internet delvers. Now that such bloggers have Steem available to them, that situation needs not arise anymore.

Steem provides an outlet for amateur writers to make a name for themselves and, for the best among them, potentially pursue professional careers with a whole lot more exposure to people in working in the industry, not just in journalism, but in many other specialised industries as well. Employers perusing through Steem may read something written by someone that they find amazing and then decide to contact its author and provide them with a job offer. Of course, this is likely to be the exception not the rule, but nevertheless, talent will be discovered where talent lies, and this was something that never really happened before but can easily happen on a platform such as this.

To conclude this short piece, I am glad to now be a part of the Steem community and I plan to contribute my prose here whenever I get the opportunity to do so. I am a crypto investor and Steem is in my portfolio. I believe very strongly in its future success and have no doubt that it will be a top 20 cryptocurrency before too long.

Warm regards,

Michael James
