Does Anyone Know the Steem Power Voting Ratio; Steem Bought vs Voting Power?

in #steem7 years ago

Does anyone know the ratio where if you buy say $5,000 of Steem Power, then how many votes you can give yourself and how many votes you can takeaway from others?

Has anyone figured this scale of dollars versus power out in Steemit?

Please do tell...thanks

Hallo @michaelpinson

The definition: 1 MV = 1M VESTS = 483.120 Steem Power = 483.120 STEEM = $759.797

Note: the US $ will always change all the time depending on the price on the exchanges, but the rest will always be the same.

Ok...I got that point....but you voted for your own comment and you got $132.09 on your reply....was your steem power account reduced by $132.09 when you voted for your own reply?

Hello @michaelpinson

I voted on my comment so you could see how much voting power for 173,702.222 Steem Power.
You can check my Wallet everybody can do that.

My Steem Power account was not reduced when I did the Vote. It never is but my Voting Power was reduced.
Your Voting Power is 61.25% at THE MOMENT. You can check it here:

"Is your reply vote $132.09 US dollars or $132.09 Steem Dollars?"

It is US dollar. The author get at least 75% , the voter (curation reward) is maximal 25%

I have bought more than US dollar 100,000.00 on the free market exchanges (bittrex.com).

Hope it gave some answers.

Is your reply vote $132.09 US dollars or $132.09 Steem Dollars?

It represents an amount of steem and steem dollars equal to a market value of 132$. (but the system values steem dollars at 1$ rather than the higher value they actually trade at,...)

This money does not come out of his account. In fact everyday, a pie of steem is made available for distribution amongst authors and curators. This pie has a certain value but it also means that each day the total amount of steem increases, thereyby diluting one's holdings. You will also see your total amount of steem price slowly creep upwards, by 0.001 SP at a time, this is to encourage holding steem as steempower (steem dilutes faster, since it doesn't get these 0.001 increments)

However, if the price of steem doen't drop this means that the total market value of steem increases.

I believe however that according to the current system there is about a 10% inflation in the system (including the increments, your amount of Steem Power expressed as a total of all Steem available is reduced by 10% a year (if you have no curation or author rewards).

Hope this clears some stuff up.

yes thank you....Steemit say they only increase STEEM circulation by 10% a year....but when you look at these numbers, it is difficult to confirm this...there is no real annual history chart of any coins on the coin desk which would increase transparency for everyone....

So a STEEM POWER guy can wipe out 30+ peoples votes with his one down vote which is a bad model....it creates mini dictators and certainly abuse and bullies....this is one large flaw in Steemit....it does not create "Equality".

I would love to know this as well.

Very nice Ramta. Thanks for this. I took a screenshot of your comment so I can have a copy of this information. Greatly appreciated.

My research is showing that those who have STEEM POWER can act correctly, or they can abuse their power and turn the site into a NAZI style Police State pulling all your votes and money, then flagging your entire page....this is going on here...and then there are those who call people wild names and are rude. there is no bocking these people acting like little Steemit Fascists. The Steamit founders know this is happening for a long time now and yet they will not stop it. There is not real free speech. it is like being in North Korea....if you question the government they will kill you...if you tell everyone how great the government is then you are rewarded....not a good business model for Americans....the Steemit founders need to change their business model ot frankly, Steemit will crash as nothing more than a scheme for the founders to obtain your Bitcoins, and give overwhelming power to unvetted NAZI Police types on the site to crush anyone who questions anything.....also, I find it interesting from a business fraud standpoint that anyone can buy Steem Power, then SUPER VOTE money for themselves, which misleads others where the majority of the steem dollars came from. A person should not be able to vote for their own article at all. Also, the down vote tool is being used for nothing more than to control topics and content....there is nothing free market or free speech about Steemit that i have seen ad they advertise at all...

grow up and move on....the real world does not support people like yourself...but I will be sure to quote what you said about the people in Steemit, as if you really speak for everyone on the site???,,,,are with anarchist principles and the community here is by large anarchist minded itself.....it is your posts that prevent new users from writing and you are hurting the site....you actually have proven my point very well.....

Go to https://www.steemnow.com/ and enter your username. You can check the value of your votes however I'm not sure where you can check the ratio.

No I mean if a person BUYS a fixed dollar amount of Steemit what will his voting power become....not what they have now, but what could they have if that buy $5,000, $10,000, or $25,000 of Steem Power

Voting power goes down as a person votes. That includes downvotes. So as a person votes, their power goes down. It replenishes over time. So there is no fixed amount... But the more a person votes within a given time frame, the less effective each vote is. It's not a fixed number

Interesting....so why would they use up voting power to bully people...I saw today that anyone can down vote really as much as they want to....I tested this myself in my own research....there does not seem to be much of any cost involved in downvoting....or upvoting....
