Steem: Why is it better than ETH, when the floodgates are open?

in #steem8 years ago

Some people leave Ether now and invest a lot into Steem (see https://steemit.com/journey/@acidyo/my-journey-from-bitcoin-to-ethereum-to-steem-and-why-i-believe-i-ended-up-on-the-best-one).

More and more people think Steem will grow bigger and more valueable than ETH. But why?

The Steemit platform is a wonderful idea. And it could be a "social media revolution". But why do some folks think, Steem will soon have a price of 20 USD?

There is an available supply of ETH of 92.779.245. Steem is younger and already at a supply of 235.034.266 coins! And mining ETH is much harder than "mining" Steem. More users and more posts plus comments generate more Steem. Right? The floodgates are open. How can this raise the price of a single Steem compared to other (crypto-) currencies?

I'm looking forward to your comments.

Are emit needs some time to gather momentum.
You don't really need to invest anything in it and it pays out when you are consistently active.
People help people San we are building a better world with stern it :)
Cheers and all the best from me^^

Well, the investment of the users is (life) time. And the reward is Steem. Sure this is better than Facebook, where users get just good feelings for their comments ... by looking at the likes.
Tell me, why you think, Steem helps building a better world. How for example could Steemit stop hate and fake news?

I think ETH will rise but when steem starts coming it won't slow down. Steem still lacks a few key features

What features are not available in your opinion?

Direct messaging. Easier formatting of text. Referrals. And some other stuff I can't think of right now

Well... there only is a comparison when you compare them on the price on the markets.

Steem is just what it is, a social decentralized platform. Ethereum is so much more and we aren't even close to see it's full potential as it made DAPPS possible.

So if development of Ethereum goes well Steem will never be able to get even close to Ethereums pricing. Ethereum does have technical and architectural issues, I've written a few posts about it. I believe that Stratis can become the new Ethereum.

I agree. Etherium is more versatile. Steem looks to me like a token in a computer game ... with the advantage of being fungible. It makes and keeps users active. But I think it will attract a lot of silly content.
