RE: STEEM Thoughts: The Power of a Vote!

in #steem7 years ago

Actually we can say that I am a newbie. I know how it feels to get first 0.10 on my post votes, I felt really cool that someone appreciated my work and actually it's worth something! and yesterday evening I uploaded a photo of wild cat that I shot. I wake up at morning and I see 140 votes and 2 dollars of votes and I was like "whaaaaaaat?!" (I mean I was really happy of that, I know that 2 dollars is not a lot, but for me it was like freakin high)

I am trying to vote frequently but I don't actually know some things. I know that voting power is lowering whenever I put a vote and it's going back up in some time. Got this.

But how many 100% votes daily should I put or shouldn't I put to not get rid of all my voting power? Actually I don't even know how to vote for example 50%, I saw on some youtube videos that it's possible to change voting power on certain posts, but I can only click to vote up and cannot manage the % of it so I guess I'm giving all the time 100% vote, do I?

Sorry if my comment sounds pretty lame, but I am just trying to get good understanding of how the things are going :D

You can use busy.org. They do give you a slider even if you have less than 500 Steem power.
It is recommended not to do more than 20 100% upvotes each day!
Hope this helps!

Actually, the number is 11 100% votes per day. The Voting Power recharges at the equivalent speed of 11 100% portions each 24 hours.

This explain why I am always running out of power. Need some time offline I guess so it can recharge!

Yeah, you should give it a rest by only voting small percentages or taking some time off from voting.

If it's true that you need to vote, it's also true that you benefit yourself and even the community more by always having the VP above 75%, better keep that in mind ;)

Hello man!

You can give 11 full votes per 24 hours. Although to be safe I only give out 10.

Of course on busy you can give bits of a vote, or even here if you have more than 500 SP.

I gave you 5% of a vote... since I have so many people to vote on by this time, I really have to be cautious about my voting power, so giving fractions of a vote is the way to go in the future for you.

Finally, if you ever need anything, you know where I am.

Cheers!

No problem with the small upvote. I rather have a reply than an upvote (but hey I don't mind an upvote :))!
One of my problems is that I do want to reward genuine comments on my post with and an upvote and a reply! This never has been a problem, until my last 2 posts! But I don't complain. People are interacting and that was the idea was behind the 2 posts!

Thanks for the good explanation, now it makes sence! :D
