I can respect disagreements about v0.22.2, but removing a down vote is the opposite of protecting property. This would mean the rewards pool would be completely controllable by whoever has the most Steem Power and can write a script to spam the network and self vote. You've been here long enough to see the results of that. The emotional result of being downvoted is certainly real and something we can only work to improve via interface changes and education that "pending rewards" are not real until the community finishes voting (which includes those who disagree over payout). Flag wars are brutal. I was flagged for months by a massive whale and I know it sucks. Removing the one thing that protects the rewards pool is not an appropriate response. The last HF was all about improving the downvote functionality to further protect the rewards pool and this would be a step backwards.
