RE: Thinking of Steem as an Investment! #7

in #steem7 years ago

This is an excellent post @jerrybanfield. I'm really happy to see you sharing with people exactly why it can be beneficial to keep their money in steem, instead of cashing out immediately.

I have some very high aspirations - I am currently getting ready to launch my own online cryptocurrency course with an investor who has been in cryptocurrencies since 2012, and we have hired out a full studio for the recording. I'm planning on releasing two or three courses over the coming months, one of which will be a full course on how to earn through Steemit - I am waiting until my account grows to a more plausible value so that the public can see the results for themselves.

I am also all for helping grow the Steemit community voluntarily, through creating advertising campaigns, marketing strategies etc. (as this is what I primarily do for my work). Anyway, Joe has been an inspiration to me. I sat his course back when his account was worth ~4,000 and knew that he was going to do very well, because he was persistent. Reinvesting is a huge part of the Steemit platform, and through my multiple passive income streams, I plan to start investing in steem when I start getting more money in, as well as keeping my Steemit earnings on the platform until I hit ~2k Steem, then I will take out 5% of my weekly earnings, but only if I have to, I'd rather keep it on the platform as an investment.

Thanks again for sharing!

You're welcome Luke! Are you going to release a Smart Media Token on Steem for your new cryptocurrency or are you doing it another way?

For which cryptocurrency exactly? The one that I do consulting for have already been made on different platforms.

To clarify, I'm not specifically making any cryptocurrency myself, I'm consulting some projects in the space but they aren't my projects, I'm working on the PR and marketing.

Regarding my own projects, I was looking at the possibility of using an SMT for my website when it's ready - I haven't looked in to it deeply enough to Decide, but I'd love to do it when I'm able to yes. Would you be looking to integrate SMT's with your website? I think it would be very interesting, which is why I'm going to try and do it anyway.

Thanks for getting back to me - I voted for you as a witness by the way, sorry it took so long! I would really appreciate if you have any feedback on the posts that I'm currently doing, or if you were available to chat about a few of the projects I'm working on. There's some really cool stuff happening that I'd love to get your opinion on!

Luke thank you for voting for me as a witness at https://steemit.com/~witnesses and explaining further! I probably am not going to make a SMT just for simplicity. I appreciate your patience with me misreading and seeing that you are launching a cryptocurrency course rather than a cryptocurrency!

No problem, happy to help in any way that I can.

That makes sense, I more want to try it to experiment with it and see how it can be used in action etc.

No worries! I'd really appreciate if you had 10 minutes to chat over on Discord or Steemit chat if possible? Thanks!

Love your attitude to Steem and Steemit the platform. I can tell from reading this comment that you're as excited as me about the long term future here, and can see there's an opportunity to build something great for ourselves and others if we keep reinvesting.

The courses sound interesting, so I'll be following along for update with that.

Thanks for the reply @philnewton. Great to hear we have the same attitude! Good stuff, will be announcing course number 1 properly around Feb 10th.
