RE: $420 a Day for YouTube Ads Promoting Steem Equals?

in #steem7 years ago

Thanks for sharing this @jerrybanfield. You are doing some great work, I am glad to see it. Advertising Steemit is hugely important and I'm glad you do.

As I mentioned before, I am running a project that is trying to get funding in order to build Steemit as a platform by helping to develop beginners on the platform, advertising Steemit and of course by providing detailed guides on how to do well on Steemit. I have asked you before about working with you and about how to apply to budgets, but I can't join your inner circle at the moment and I also have not hear back about my query re. Budgets.

I actually got in contact with Ned Scott yesterday and he is open to talking about my efforts to support Steemit. I want to present him with some amazing advertisements, as well as show him the work that my project, the SSI does for the community. In order to do this, I really do need support from big players on Steemit. I feel that this is an opportunity that shouldn't be passed up, because if I can get the support I need to move to Steemit full time and start working on some really cool advertising campaigns, supporting beginners, creating guides for beginners etc., I can then get back to Ned and show that 1) There is a huge amount of support behind the project from some very influential people on Steemit and 2) I have created some very lucrative advertisements. Because I work in marketing, I know how to create ads that generate conversions, which is what they will look for in a successful campaign.

My project basically supports the vertical integration of professional bloggers, while growing the platform a lot. If you can get back to me with supports that are available, I feel that we could really grow Steemit to mass adoption levels, or at least show the Steemit core team what we are doing and hopefully get their support.

Thanks again for showing us the work you have done!

Thank you! I hope @jerrybanfield will also cooperate with you! Happy to hear, that everything is moving forward! 👍

Luke I just took at look at your last four posts about and I agree it is an amazing idea which is why we already are working on this now in every area you have suggested to contribute to.

@minnowsupport, @ocd, @curie, and several other communities along with individual upvoters like @teamsteem, @thejohalfiles, and many more do exceptional curation. @utopian-io already has huge delegations to support contributions to open source projects.

A bunch of us put out guides consistently as featured at http://steem.guide with mine and there are ten times that many more.

As I mention in this post, I already am running ads that are proving extremely effective in keeping user attention and my followers here at almost 30,000 show that the ads not only provide conversions to sign ups but also turn into active users.

In other words, we already are doing everything you have included in your SSI. Comparing our numbers now with Facebook is not relevant because it is also not 13 years ago. We have a lot more choices online today. Users often sign up for Steem, get disappointed, and forget about it as you said. What you left out is how many actually come back which is significant and growing.

Our existing projects have discord channels and are immediately available to new users. If @ned is willing to provide you a delegation to create your own community or other individual delegators will, that is great!

I personally do not see a need to launch another initiative when what we have is so strong and already working. That said, I have got this feedback on my projects and found a way to innovate solutions where we had nothing. For example, as far as I can see, the ads I fund are some of the only advertising we have for Steem with serious funding.

While I support your enthusiasm and desire to contribute, we will benefit from you evolving your approach into something that truly provides value above what we already have outside of contributing to existing projects.

I would love to have another video to advertise for YouTube and I would love to see you put your expertise to work in making one!

Thank you for the feedback Jerry!

Firstly, I know that multiple projects already curate, but the issue is that with a massive influx of users on the platform, more project will need to be started to support the new users. As with any platform, as it grows, the number of big supporters also needs to grow.

It's great that you are doing advertisements, and it's great that you are getting a lot of followers which shows that the advertisements are working. The difference with the SSI is that we plan to run professional advertisements that are strategically designed to catch a users eye - there is a reason why big corporates have specific advertisement methods, there is a reason why certain ICOs get more traction than others, there is a reason why some platforms get more users than others. A big driver of these reasons is professional advertising; a video of a person explaining Steemit is great, but there needs to be a mix of people doing this and what I plan to do; Instagram ads, facebooks ads, all designed by a graphic designer, all bringing in users who are typically attracted to psychological marketing strategies.

Comparing numbers to Facebook is extremely relevant. If we want to follow Metcalfe's law like any other network, we need to try to scale and grow in a similar manner. In fact, technological innovation generally reaches adoption more quickly as time goes on, so we should be comparing to a scaled model of Facebook's history. Time does not change statistics and metrics. I did not leave out how many are coming back. Only 8.11% of Steemit users are daily active users, which is a shocking metric when compared to most platforms (even if you look at them in their earlier days). It's something that needs to be addressed, which SSI aims to do.

So, SSI is doing a lot differently. It is focusing on a different type of marketing that is proven to work, and will eventually roll out in person netowrking events, workshops, an in person incubator, and more. It is aiming to increase the amount of daily active users too, which is another unique feature. With regards to everything else that we plan to do, like I mentioned before as a platform grows so does the need for more support projects.

I hope that the above convinced you as to why there is a need for another initiative. Personally, when I have the power to help, I will try to support the growth of more initiatives. Steemit is a hub for creative entrepreneurs, so I will try to foster and grow as many as I can. I respect that this is not your point of view and that maybe you feel that you do enough with all of the great work that you do, but personally I do not understand why it doesn't seem helpful to support an upcoming innovation.

By the way, @ned is not willing to delegate SP, I simply said I contacted him about what I am doing and he said he is open to talking. I will need the support of big community players to actually bring a solid project and present it to the Steemit core team professionally.

I can't evolve my project without support; I am trying to move to Steemit as full time as I can be, but the less support I have for the project, the less that I can do that, because I need to earn to support myself and family of course.

Finally, I am not great with making videos unfortunately. I have a very good cinematographer who is willing to come on board when the project grows some more, but until then I won't be doing video advertising, in fact I can't do any advertising until I get monetary support to do so.

Thank you for getting back to me, and thank you for reading through my posts. I hope that you can see why what I'm doing will benefit the community, and why it needs support. I am really trying to help the Steemit Community, but I need initial support to get things started. Thanks again for everything that you do already Jerry, seeing all of the great work that you do was one of the things that inspired me to also start trying to do some great work for Steemit.

Luke I support your continued contributions and I support the work you are doing to build your project! I see your desire to benefit the community and I see a need for it to evolve further first by more completely including what we already have here.

We have many independent projects all trying to do the same kinds of things. Figure out a way to help what we have build on each other and we have something very exciting.

Jerry, truce but um the double audio on the youtube video is crazy lol

Thank you for saying you support it Jerry, it means a lot.

I'm primarily looking for support to grow the project though, in terms of growing SP and growing the project, so that I can pay my graphic designer, photographer etc. to create a professional, attractive campaign for Steemit. I really am looking for any support, be it from yourself, from @budgets, or any willing Steemit fellow.

Yes, that's what my project does Jerry. It adds to what everyone does by providing a new type of advertising, a professional, attention grabbing type. It adds to the daily active users by focusing on growing that.

If you can actually offer support in any way, please let me know. Again I am looking for support from anyone willing, and I reached out to you because I thought you could help and would be willing to. If not, that's fine of course because it is up to you, and as I said I know you do some amazing work already.

Thank you for your time anyway, I hope you can support me in some sort of way!

By the way @jerrybanfield, it was pointed out to me that I may have come across as if I do not think the work that you do is professional. I just want to let you know that I think you are doing some excellent, professional and extremely important work for Steemit!

I will continue to support you through all of the work that you do, and thank you again for doing all of it!
