Do our immune cells carry a deeper understanding of their environment?
One of the immune cells you see in this video has little movement and is dying. It has done an amazing job cleaning the blood, but too much work has worn it out.
One of the other immune cells keeps bumping into it and keeps close to it.
After having studied the behavior of these cells for thousands of hours I firmly believe that they have a consciousness about what's going on around them. I see them attack and clean up harmful elements, but when it comes to other human cells, they gently greet each other before moving on. When one is dying other immune cells will come, not to attack but to gently feel around the dying cell and to keep close to it.
Do our cells only react to chemical changes in the blood and from other cells? Or do they actually carry a deeper understanding of their environment and our health?
What do you think?
The immune cells you see are neutrophils. They can live for many days, but dragging around trash and fungus will shorten their lifespan.
Healthy neutrophile immune cells will collect trash and fungus from the blood, they act as the body's janitors, constantly cleaning and searching around.
This recording is from slightly acidic blood where you see that the immune cells have collected and are carrying fungus particles.
The fungus shows as white dots inside the cells and they use their own enzymes to break these particles down.
